My button doesnt stay in when pressed like the hazards. So i think its normal.

Only 3 lines work on my integra after pulling the rear tint. I need to buy that defroster repair kit too. How much is it? Is there a good brand or all work the same?

when you got your tint put in, did they pull the lines too and it didn't work? Or tint doesnt affect anything?

DUDE... I've told you like ten times, the button is not supposed to stay pushed in like your hazard button. It is supposed to spring back to it's original position. It is a soft switch that merely activates the defroster, which automatically turns off when it is done so that it does not overheat. EVERY car that has a rear defroster is like this. I am 100% certain on this.

As for tint, it doesn't affect anything when you put it in as the tint goes ON TOP of the grid. When you pull it off, the tint may be too strong and tear off peices of the grid along with the tint. As long as you keep the tint on, it will be fine (assuming it was working in the first place).

Yeah, don't yours have a orange light in the center of the button that indicates on/off?

so first of all, my lines in the back are fine. No broken ends or anything.

Next i checked the fuses, both under the wheel and in the back according to the manual. The front ones are fine and have power. The ones under the wheel were missing! I put them in and now when i press the rear defroster button, the little light comes on on the button.

BUT still no heat. I'm testing by turning on the heat to max, turning on the front defroster and also the rear defroster. I then touch the lines in the back windshield and it does not warm up!

one problem that MAY be causing this is that the space to put the fuse in is a very odd one. The fuses i put in are smaller - a connection is being made, as the light is going on and the relay is working, but it's still odd. If i try a diff sized fuse (normal ones), they're too big to fit, but if i try these smaller ones, there's a bit of space on the sides.

Wondering: a) if any integra owners have some input into the fuse thing
b) since it might not be the issue anyway, if anyone else has some further advice of what i could do to try to fix this, without going to a shop!

If you've got a multimeter... check for continuity from one side (and only one side) of the defog grid to the car's chassis (aka ground). The other side should get +12 volts with the button pushed (and the light on). If there's ground but no voltage.. then you've got a problem with the feed to the grid. Start checking the relay, wiring, etc..

I have a Cavalier.. the common problem is they burn up the connector behind the carpet by the driver's feet. Since I don't know squat about an Integra.. I can't give you specific things to check, sorry.

oddly enough, it seems to be working now..i think.

i mean, before i tested it by putting my finger to the inside and i felt no heat. However today i turned it on and it seemed to defog the back pretty fast...

Truth. In some cars the defoggogler-doo-hickey turns on the A/C automatically when you switch to it. Mine does.
...and when your air blower is on its last legs and squeeks and howls even louder than your brakes, this is what must be done.

I.e., this is what I have do do. :p

One super cheap way to prevent excessive cabin humidity is to save silica gel packs and just place them in your glove compartment! If it keeps moisture out of your foods it should help you do that for your car too!

anyone else vouch for this? i'd take the effort to go find parking in that horrid parking lot if this thing is actually efficient.

I got a small one yesterday, see how it goes. There were larger ones, but those ones were not self-enclosed, was afraid it'd spill everywhere if I took a hard turn.

on two of my car I found the most effective way to de fog without the use of AC is
Match the temperature as outside. then POint the blower to your floor. blast it to medium
I set it to the second out of four setting

it does not always work. but when there is not too many people in the car I find it works way better than pointing the blower to the windshield

When your car is full of people then I have to use WarmAir + AC and point the blower to the windshield

When my car is full of people I make them wipe their own damn windows. :D

Same, I usually get my brother to wipe down my rear window if we're in a hurry, same goes for my passenger side view so the mirror heater can get to it faster.

So i went yesterday while i was at the mall checking out the new ncix ( it looks great in there by the way ).

There's two, one is the charcoal one you mentioned and one is a dehumidifier one.

I bought the dehumidifier one ($2.24 taxes in) because the description said it's better aimed at removing the moisture in the room.

The charcoal one didn't explicitly say removing moisture in the room, it was more about eliminating odors.

Stuck it under my driver seat so i'll report back in a few days and see if it helps!
