I'm happy to see Canadian governing boards love competition in the marketplace. |
It's broader than that. If a company is mostly, from a corporate standpoint, not Canadian, then what happens when it profits? Do Canadians win out? Not exactly. Sure we'll tax their profits and whatnot, but the ones who gain the most are our Egyptian friends behind WIND. One can argue that it stirs up competition and forces the incumbant carriers to work harder, as it were. Which means cheaper plans, fancier phones and ultimately lower profits for them (and probably lousy network quality :p). That's a very simplified train of thought, but I can see them arguing for that. But face it, WIND has made its mark. Look at how much has changed in Canada's mobile landscape in the last three years! Bellus going HSPA and releasing cool phones like the Hero and Omnia 2? If you told me that would be happening in 2010, I would've laughed at you and go back to yacking on my 903SH. :lol |
bahh the AWS movement is so n00b but of course, to the general public ooh NEW SHINEY CARRIER CARRY ME PLEASE *fail* |
