i just blacked out my 9700 today. It is quite the hassel to do it by yourself. I had to solder plastic and the fitment takes a bit of playing around with to get it right.

do know that after the blackout is done, you will have a gap between the top piece and the bezel. It's not really noticeable on the phone.

However, I'm happy with the results. Got my parts from swbox

I was wondering If changing the housing like the Chrome bezel and top cover would void warranty. In voiding warranty I mean if there's a sticker or something that rips off when changing it.

Underneath the branding cover theres a white sticker on the left screw. I removed it to black out the phone and Im telling you. The sticker is alot harder to remove compared to the 9000 boy oh boy. Its alot flakier and solid so one screw up and the thing is gunna shred to pieces. Watch out and use an exacto.

^ do you know if any mobile phone shop will help you black out the phone?

just received my 9700 a couple hours ago and found out there's a minor scuff on the corner...and when i opened the backing, there are fingerprints on it...it's supposed to be a brand new one too wtf

just called Rogers and i need to ship it back to them and re-order it...i hope they don't screw me over and tell me that i did the damage...
