been a tough call deciding between this and the iphone 3gs

Impressed with the 9700, but is it really that much better than the 9000?
Hard to say
The screen pixel density is stunning, but the iphone's entire interface is a screen.
Advantage - iphone

so the bold 9000 is $99 with 3 year contract, $699 no term.

the bold 9700 is $299 with 3 year contract, $599 no term.

rogers is definitely taking advantage of those people who are hyped for new phones and always wanting it "new".

you get better camera pixels, more storage, and a trackpad. is it really with the price to change your bold 9000 for this and renewing your contract?

i'm planning on changing phones and going for a 3 year contract with rogers, and the bold 9000 is still my choice. not paying an extra $200 for small improvements.

I really hate that people compare the iphone and the blackberry so much. their target markets are completely different, whatever one has as an advantage the other has as a disadvantage.

if you want multimedia capabilities, go with the iphone

if you want quick emailing, bbm, a hardware qwerty keyboard and less data consumption (compared to the iphone), go with a blackberry

isn't that the whole point of a business? charge more for newer models?

I'm actually surprised the bold 9000 is more expensive w/o a contract than the bold 9700

Nice! I got my Bold 9000 on Nov.28th 2008 last year according to the website. I guess I need to wait one more month to get my hands on the 9700
Btw, is the only department that handles HUP, the retention department?

Got my 9700 from the Coquitlam Centre Telus yesterday. I'm very happy with it... but of course I got a killer plan to go with it... they managed to match (and beat!) a Bell corporate plan so I'm pretty happy.]

Better get yours quick cuz I don't know how soon supplies will last.

yep same here.

does anyone know if either Telus, Bell or Rogers has the bold with the white keypad/red numbers? my Rogers one came with an all white keypad, and so do the ones I've seen on video and hands-on reviews

my Rogers 9000 came with a black/red keypad as well
