1) Im using a 9000, I want all the data from my 9000 to be on my 9700 (not purchased yet)
So do I just need to create a backup ipd file of my 9000, then plug in the 9700 and hit restore?

2) I'm buying an unlocked bell 9700. The guy is using it with rogers. To release the pin he'd have to call bell, right?

3) Its possible to use iphone data on a blackberry?!

1) yes. just create a backup from your 9000 and when you get your 9700, make sure you restore that backup to it. backup files have the same file extension so you can perform any backup from any berry and restore it to another.

2) yes.

3) its possible to use blackberry data on an iphone, but not the other way around. the blackberry uses BIS, which is like a connection protocol that RIM uses. without the blackberry data, you can't really use any of the functions that make a blackberry a blackberry.

hope this helps.

Wait, shouldn't the seller call ROGERS instead of BELL to release the pin since he's using it already on a rogers network? Which means the pin is registered within the rogers network not bell.

Also someone previously mentioned u can use iphone data on a blackberry, u just have to call into tech support and tell them to add something to the account.

you're right about calling Rogers yes, I missed that part.

about the iphone data on a blackberry, it depends on whether you deal with a nice customer service rep or not. that's why they have data plans for blackberries and iphones separate, because you are essentially signing up for something slighly different. I haven't had any experience with this but if you wanna try this out, keep calling until someone does it for you.

but straight out of an iphone, you can't use data on a blackberry. that's what I meant.

Is normal for Google Maps to be so off by like 2 blocks or more sometimes?? My BB maps and Poynt can't even find my GPS location.

ShyGuy 02-16-2010 09:00 PM

you dont need to switch or add anything for an iphone to work with a bb data plan, its only the bb that needs that done.

+1. Tried it with my 3GS iPhone using my BB SIM. However, you might want to keep an eye out on your data usage (if you don't have unlimited data) since the iPhone seems to be pretty heavy on the data compared to the BB.

Upgraded to the .536 OS. They got rid of the standby button and changed the Lock button which basically turns off the screen and locks the keyboard now. Saves battery I guess. I heard the browser was a bit faster but I haven't tested it I usually use the Opera browser.

6insomnia9 03-07-2010 06:53 PM

In the mist of upgrading.

J-force 03-07-2010 09:04 PM
