On Rogers, is that a requirement (even if the 500mb bb data works out fine with the bbm and browsing etc) or is that what i need to mention if it ISN'T working?

w00tgasm 04-07-2010 12:49 AM

From what I've gathered, this is his first data plan.

I assume they set him up on a blackberry data plan since that's what he signed up for.

IIRC APN3CON is if you have a non-blackberry plan already on your account and want to get the SOC added to access the Blackberry features (Push email, bbm, etc.)

Did you end up registering the IMEI and PIN on rogers BIS OK?

Tim Budong 04-07-2010 01:54 AM

Apn3conn is the code for bis data.
To know if it worked, you should get a txt saying blackberry registration

rogers.com/bis

IMEI and PIN has been registered alright (had to call into Rogers to release the PIN myself still even though you deleted all the emails ;) )

Guess I'll wait for that email on the 10th. It should work regardless even though it's on a weekend right, as in it wont push it to a business day like the following Monday for the data plan settings to apply?

w00tgasm 04-07-2010 11:16 AM

Ah, sorry man. I guess it released last time cause I replaced it with another IMEI and PIN right away.

When I added a data blackberry to my plan, i think it happened right away, but I had a pre-existing data plan beforehand and just added APN3CON.

you'll find out real soon that it's definitely worth the money for the upgrade to the 9700

upgrade to the new .593 beta OS, it's absolutely spectacular on speed and battery life.

skyxx 04-08-2010 01:55 AM

Am I a retard for running Service Provider OS compared to the leaked ones?
I probably am. :lol

Pros
- Eliminated the annoying black screen delay.
- Blackberry Internet is blazing fast. Much improved over previous versions.
- Battery improved over previous versions.
- "UMA" font a hair larger.
- "Incoming calls" fonts is definitely larger.
- Annoying "press reply" on SMS text is eliminated (thank u BB God!)
- 3rd party Apps seem to be all working.
- Did I mention is the BB internet is fast!!! It's about time.

Cons
- Does not solve my Tax problems.
- Does not grow hair on my bald spot.
- Does not reduce my waistline.
- Does not cure acne.

ForbiddenX 04-08-2010 10:22 AM

^hmm I'm not sure if it's worth it to try that beta OS. Doesnt seem like the pros outweigh the cons. jk

I'll install it when I get home, I dont think I can install these leaked OS's using a mac.

Tim Budong 04-08-2010 11:45 AM

gotta use windows
i just do my updates at work
either the IT ppl will do it by request or I just do it

shawn79 04-08-2010 11:52 AM

can u change the wallpaper on 9700 menu like the 9000?

!Yaminashi 04-08-2010 01:47 PM

I'm still running Service provider OS lol
No issues for me at all

JordanLee 04-08-2010 10:42 PM

So I left my Cowon in my friends car the other day so I thought I'd use my 9700 to watch movies in bed. Fast forward to this morning I pick up the phone and hear the person talk but breaks up at random times. I look at the screen and it keeps switching from headset to handset. I tried battery pull and upgrading to .593 with no luck. I think I fucked up the connectors inside the headphone jack port and now it registers and flickers on and off. Im PISSED. This is like my 3rd one.

Just installed the official Twitter application for Blackberry's. Looks good, slight menu lag, but overall is (Y).

illicitstylz 04-09-2010 05:59 AM

Current homescreen custom theme and wallpaper obviously, what do you guys think?

1.Are you supposed to stream with " switching to WAP for streaming media" for Youtube? Read on CB that some the data plan doesnt include WAP data so I wanted to double check with you guys.

Gh0stRider 04-09-2010 09:11 PM

i kinda wanna try the twitter app, but i love ubertwitter too much.

What theme is that? Right now I'm using the reverie HT theme.

I downloaded the twitter app last night and I like it. I like how it shows up in the messages when you get @ or a dm.

Also, .593 seemed to solve my text problem. Hopefully it doesnt come back anytime soon.
And I'm still waiting for my bezel to come from sw-box!

illicitstylz 04-09-2010 10:47 PM

ForbiddenX here's the theme, i love wallaper friendly and minimalistic as you could probably tell from my screen shot:

http://forums.crackberry.com/f176/fr...y-msgs-426842/

And it's completely free too.

So can anyone answer my question, do I stream youtube videos via WAP?

w00tgasm 04-10-2010 02:11 PM

i believe youtube videos will load up in a new application...

go to blackberry app world, there's another application on there that is decent if you choose to use

skyxx 04-10-2010 04:44 PM

Blah, I'm becoming a theme Whore. :lol

illicitstylz 04-10-2010 05:02 PM
