I'm currently using a bell 9700 and it's a fully functional phone with fido, so I have 3g connection.

I think phones made from Canada have the same frequencies allowing 3g connection from bell phones to fido, rogers or telus.

saiko 06-05-2010 10:17 AM

I think T-Mobile was the one that doesn't work on 3G here. (9700)

CT10 06-05-2010 04:01 PM

T-mobile and Wind are the ones that don't work

I have used a Telus and Bell 9700 on Fido and can confirm it works and u can get a 3g signal

Just download the official east asian language OS .680 and override Java files on it with the hybrid and load it on your phone.

hmmm my answer key is not working, but all other keys work fine, if i take apart the phone and press the circuit board, the answer key works... fuck anyone have any ideas?

skyxx 06-09-2010 10:56 PM

^ mine does that too at times so I have to press the blackberry and press "answer". An OS reboot solves my issue.

Alpine50 06-09-2010 10:56 PM

Sorry to Jump out of no where with questions but I'm thinking of picking up a bb instead if getting the new iPhone and I wanted to confirm that you can have multi e-mails run through the bb meaning like I can check all of mine 1 at a time or how does that work.

Also for the guys that have jumped from the iPhone to this was it a pain to use for a while or did u get the hang of it pretty quick? And i know it's a dumb question but would u say bbm is just insane or what?

ya, you can have multiple email addresses. I'm running 3 right now. You can check all of them at the same time or one at a time.

it wasn't hard, but then i went from BB to iphone to BB.

BBM is the greatest thing to happen to BB.

not at all
my battery can last 2 full days on a charge easily, there's still about 30% left over by the end of the 2nd day
i use it quite a lot, push 3 emails, sms, a few phone calls and browsing

After reloading my os I can't fine the option to password lock my keypad anymore. I do have a password set and it asks me for it when I turn on my phone, but it doesn't ask me for a password anymore when I unlock the keypad.

Anyone have any ideas??

New OS .743

Downloading and testing will reply within next couple of days unless there are early changes.

it seems like if i lock my keypad and press unlock again quickly, password is not required to unlock the keypad, BUT if i lock the keypad, and wait a while and then unlock the keypad, a password is required.

I have a different blackberry, but it sounds like the same issue from a new style of locking on the updated OS.

If you have dial from homescreen you can password lock using the "k" key. If you use the standard lock button "a", its now putting it into standby. After your set amount of time (not sure what you have on your settings), it goes into password lock.

The other alternative is to click on the password lock icon.

Why do you guys even bother updating your OS (unless it's the really old original one from Rogers/Fido etc) since OS 6.0 is coming out in Q3 ( supposedly july/august ). So much hassle to re-install applications etc

um NO, if u do a backup before u install a new OS (which u should do anyways to save ur contacts bbm and settings), restoring the backup will put EVERYTHING back in, including apps and settings.

my * key is lock keypad, my k key is assign to speed dial.
if only theres a way to remap the * key to perform the "password lock" function then everything will be perfect.
