I took some time to google up the AT&T/Rogers/Fido Sim card thingy... **keep in mind this is for the bb9000** apparently, an easy fix is to flash the att bold with the rogers fw, and you're all set! so if the att 9700 has the same problems, there might be a solution for it. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1462802 post #11 in that thread |
Found this thread. http://forums.crackberry.com/f146/q-...9700-a-365383/ says there is no way to make it a complete rogers phone even if you flash it with a rogers fw |
I called in to rogers explained I had 1 dead pixel, mushy menu button, and slanted trackpad. And they said np for a brand new replacement. Keep in mind I bought this thing off a guy on craigslist who HUPed. I just told them the IMEI and explained the problems and that was it. What I thought was odd was that he never asked about the talk time and or data usage. When I asked if it was a refurb or a new unit, he told me it'd be new since it was within 30 days. Made me smile even more. |
Well having the new bb bold 2 is awesome but a couple of problems with the firm ware update. sometimes I would have a frozen msg icon for msn or bbm when there aren't any new msgs Posted via RS Mobile |

Anyone having Facebook problems? Mine seems to have a slow or bad connection with it. Status updates and photo uploads are not instant. 50% of the time I will get the message "A connection cannot be established to the facebook server" |
^happened to me yesterday but its working correctly now may be the firewall set permissions to allow |
Okay sounds good, do you know how I can access the permissions? Thanks in advance :) Posted via RS Mobile |
menu > options > applications > add-ons > menu key on facebook > edit defailt permissions its usually on custom permissions change it to Allow |
Thanks, let's hope that fixes the problem ^^ Last thing I'm trying to figure out is why my emails aren't being pushed. Usually I would send my service books and email would work fine for an hour then after that I receive no emails on my phone. Posted via RS Mobile |
I doubt the facebook problems will go away, even after changing all permissions to allow. ever since fw 5.0 was released, it's been nothing but sluggish slow to load and send everything you do on the app. after doing some research, it seems it's a case of a poorly programmed app. I remember when I was in fw 4.6, facebook ran mighty smooth. don't know if it's isolated to the 9700 or if any other new berrys with 5.0 running on them have the same problem. |

Cause even with my emails, i dont even receive them instantly. delay can be anywhere from 30 mins to not receiving it at all. EDIT: On my bold 1, i never had these problems, except for the flimsy OEM trackball LOL |

I know my e-mails from hotmail/windows live generally take way longer to hit my phone than my gmail/telus/SFU emails, which come instantly. |

Before it was instant with my Bold 1, but not with the bold 2 :( |
