The S Class is sleeker and sporty where as the 7 series is bulky. That been said the new 7 Series, in person, isn't that bad looking and the interior in the new 7 series is amazing and imo is much nicer compared to the S class.

the design of the new 7 series is somewhat awkward IMO... the S Class seems like a more classy and sleek car and has a more commanding presence...

S63 or S65 are way better cars IMO... must have one one day!!!

That's to accommodate European pedestrian crash standards. There is now a minimum space required between the hood and the engine block. You see the "raised hood" feature on all new European cars. It's not just a styling trend.

So now if you smack a guy, he can now crunch in your shiny new hood, and the body shop technician and some parts supplier get to eat. Oh, and now the likelihood of the guy living to sue you afterward goes up too.
