Do you guys think we'll get a lot of thunderstorms this summer? Last year was the best year since 1999 for storms. I was only 8 at the time but remember that summer well.
i kinda want a big wind/storm and the power goes out and my family have to gather around the dinner table and order wonton noodle take outs/delivery and eat by the candle light. Good times.
my 8 month old german shepherd was standing on the couch staring out the window at the lightning in awe....while my 6 year old Rottweiler/shepherd is currently cowering in fear under my desk...letting out the occasional wimper when thunder passes...
what an amazing light show... me and my family sat by the windows watching!

Neighbors and kids went outside to enjoy the show, holding umbrellas and the kids were running around in the rain, one guy LEANING ON A POWER POLE. all drenched. Lol i told them to stay away from the power poles as they can get hurt. not a good idea lol.

a lot of the downtown streets are a bit flooded, couple hours ago even towards Lions Gate on W. Georgia 3 lanes and sidewalk were submerged with about 2-3ft of water.
Thankfully the weekend into next week warm up with a lot of sun. And usually September is nice around here, it gets nasty around Halloween and than it's downhill from there until June.
I was filming this out of my window last night when a flash of lightning killed all of the street lights and then the thunder followed a few seconds later...
The thunderstorms here are getting more frequent and intense every year. Remember the big storms last summer? And then a couple of years before that there was the storm with the fireworks, then it hit 30+ degrees for five straight days.
Needless to say I did not get much sleep last night.

that rarely happens anymore
Where are you from?
I've lived here all my life and I can remember some really bad storms. In July 1997 there were 7000 lightning strikes in an hour and a half over the mainland and the Island. That shit kept me up too (I was 6). My dad told me about one in '92 that flooded the Massey Tunnel.
