Huge tree from my neighbours yard came crashing down and ripped his fence, his next door neighbours fence and parts of ours apart. 3/4 of my driveway was blocked off. One of my neighbours brought out his chainsaw and hacked the tree to bits. After a few hours of clean up with my neighbours. We've cleared a path through it but there's still lots of damage and part of the tree in their fences
BC Hydro now says more than 400 thousand customers are without power, including more than 300 thousand in the Lower Mainland. Winds expected to ease tonight. Many customers will be without power for at least a few more hours.

Knock on wood the power gods spared us and power remained, worst of it seems to be over at least for now.

What I can't stand is that we don't have any above ground power lines in our neighbourhood yet we'll always lose power -_- its gotten better since they put us onto another grid but here we are again -_-
It was crazy windy by the water in Crescent Beach/White Rock/South Surrey area. Never seen waves that big before in this area. Lots of debris and fallen trees, power line poles and one lamp post torn right out of the ground.

9:00pm PST - BC Hydro crews continue working to get power restored as quickly as possible. Once power is restored in your area, Shaw crews will work to get services back up and running as quickly as possible.
Our technicians are working into the evening to repair the impact of fallen trees and cable lines, due to many road closures moving throughout the Lower Mainland is taking longer than usual. We appreciate your patience with us thus far.
