Pretty insane in White Rock right now, wind is nuts, areas in South Surrey totally out of power, traffic lights not functioning as well, good thing it's a Sunday and not many people out and about at this time in the area either

punkwax 03-13-2016 06:56 PM

I have several 80-100' cedars surrounding my house... this wind is a little discomforting. Having three kids, I'm not so sure I'll have a sound sleep tonight

Talk about a fun ferry ride in Washington yesterday

I had to play soccer yesterday evening. Was an absolute mess, but once you are soaked it doesn't really matter anymore.

Right lane on Willingdon just before Central Boulevard (northbound) looks like that too lol. They closed the lane =/

MG1 05-28-2016 12:52 PM

Hwy 1 was a gong show with cars spun out.

Huge delays. Good thing my stupid EV decal for the HOV lane showed up last week. Waited a whole month and then some. Anyway, be careful out there, RS members.

Almost thought the E Class shuttle I was in was gonna get hydrolocked :lawl: that entire street was literally flooded, water was past the tires up to the wheels on most cars parked there.

Aldergrove doesn't get shit. And I'm pretty sure my work is tied into the hardened Langley Airport electrical system so the power rarely goes out their either :okay:

You guys ready for the storm this weekend? Interesting take on the predictions of just how bad it is going to be for the PNW: Cliff Mass Weather Blog: Warning: Major Storms Threaten the Pacific Northwest

6o4__boi 10-12-2016 10:37 AM

meh...for the LM it's never usually as bad as the warnings

i find the worst ones are the ones that aren't forecasted...the "forecasted" ones are usually just regular rain sessions

I remember last year there was some snow warning in effect and it snowed...like less than a cm :fuckthatshit:

I just moved to Mission so I really hope I get hit hard tonight

quasi 10-12-2016 11:12 AM

Sounds bad.

Seriously though, my son plays football in Coquitlam on Sunday and they have the shittiest field in the league that has almost no drainage. It's going to be the mudbowl for sure.

6o4__boi 10-12-2016 11:17 AM

the first storm was basically a regular October day.
any sign of this 2nd storm yet?

it's slightly gusty in Burnaby but nothing "storm-worthy"

winson604 10-14-2016 11:39 AM

Latest update is the storm will hit tomorrow night.

murd0c 10-14-2016 12:18 PM

nothing beats a wicked wind storm, I hope my power gets knocked out so I can drink on my deck with the gf watching the shit show.

I'm just worried my pool is over flowing from all the rain last night, I didn't get a chance to check it out this morning before work.

MG1 10-14-2016 12:20 PM

Whatever you do, people, don't park anywhere near trees or large bushes. Even driving along streets lined with trees is a disaster waiting to happen. I was driving on the street parallel to lougheed where the Acura dealer is and a rather large branch fell fight next to me as I drove by. It would have put a really good dent on the hood.

https://www.bchydro.com/power-outage...utage-map.html

been keeping an eye on this

lots of sporadic ones around the Lower Mainland right now

murd0c 10-14-2016 12:30 PM

great the power is out at my place.... At least I don't have to worry about the furnace not being on since I haven't turned it on yet lol

Nlkko 10-14-2016 12:40 PM

Windstorm knocked out a few traffic light power in Kits. Super windy right now. Probably 80km/h+ gust in Jericho. Also drive safe, visibility is shit in the rain.

Hope BCHydro is prepared for it this time so we don't run into province-wide power outage for days like the last time because trees falling.
