For umbrellas, I swear by a Taiwanese brand called Jiayun.

Their products are used by US presidents, the UK Royal family... etc.

I got 3 of them about 5yrs ago for about 50bucks each... and never got another umbrella since. Their build quality is just amazing. 2 of them spend their dry time in my trunk where all sort of craps gets thrown on top of them.

They have the flexible arms like the Hedgehog, but more importantly, they are 2 layers with a mesh in between them allowing wind to escape. Thus, it doesn't matter how strong the wind is, it doesn't change shape like the Hedgehog... which I think it's super important, because umbrella is there to keep you dry. And if it's changing shape, just so that it doesn't break... it's not really doing its job.

I used to rock those umbrellas with the samurai handle lol but recently upgraded to this

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...10388405%22%7D

decent price. seeing the 2 good ones posted here go for $100+ donno if I would spend that much on a umbrella lol

would be a good investment though since it pretty much rains all the time here

Seen quite a few streets with flooding build up in Vancouver/Burnaby area. Not sure what people are thinking, like idiots that plow through the flooded parts in their vehicles.

Interesting design, how do you feel about the build quality of the ones you linked. Any concerns walking around in the rain with a battery from a "no-name" manufacturer in your hand?

Thanks. Wasn't questioning the Xiaomi brand itself, have a few things from them from them but always bought it from their official stores.

Its this

" Note :This product is made by Xiaomi cooperation brand, shipping without Xiaomi packing and there is no Any xiaomi logo on the product.

Thanks for your understanding." that makes me question what I'd be receiving.

May do some more digging into this, wouldn't mind paying bit more for guaranteed real thing.

B.C.’s minister of public safety says 2,000 people have already been forced to leave their homes due to heavy flooding in the last 24 hours. The city’s wastewater treatment plant has failed and residents cannot use any water, including toilets, until further notice.

“The City of Merritt wastewater treatment plant has failed. Flushing toilets or running a faucet at this time will result in it backing up into your home,” a release from the city said Monday.

Bad news for the residents of Merritt.

Here's an idea for Turd, the feds, and our BC government:

How about spending more of our taxpayer dollars to better protect our critical infrastructure from damage related to flooding and climate change?

Protecting our power grid, waste treatment plants, highways, roads, and bridges from flooding and other climate change related damage.

Sleepy Joe and the US Democrats passed a $1.2 trillion dollar infrastructure legislation package last week. 30 billion US from that bill alone is used to protect the US power grid and infrastructure from damaged related to climate change and cyber attacks.

Yes, I know that we in Canada, and B.C. do not have that kind of government funding in terms of 30 billion US to spend for protection of our infrastructure.

Having said that, all levels of government in Canada need to seriously think about plans and spending to protect critical infrastructure such as our power grid, waste treatment plants, and transport networks.

The rain is the worst I've seen here. A few people on my street were out this morning digging. Some of the ditches have covered parts of peoples driveways. Both my neighbours lawns are under water. My neighbourhood isn't on city sewer. I can't find a toilet plug anywhere. I'd hate to hate to remove the basement toilet and cap it. Does anybody know who might sell a toilet plug locally?

Dunno where in Vancouver you live but:

https://www.homedepot.ca/search?q=Te...!q=Test%20plug

An appropriately sized "test plug" should work. Shows in stock in a few stores in my area

In a pinch I've managed to use a "heavy duty" Latex balloon to plug it.

You can shut the water off and flush to get the majority of the water out. Then you put the balloon down into the bottom of the toilet and inflate the balloon. It'll create a seal and form to the bowl.

Not sure how the wax ring will hold up to high water pressure if it's an old toilet in your basement though.
