Hate my steep ass driveway most days but living at the top of the hill is advantageous when it's raining like this, gravity carrying the water away from my house.

I should probably be counting my blessings since this rainstorm has only revealed a roof leak at my place so far. Been having zero luck with finding an available roofer all day so far, since I'm sure I ain't the only one who's got roof leak issues. A handyman friend has volunteered to come take a look at my roof tomorrow, and we will see what we can do.
After my parents' basement flooded a few years ago, I have been having anxiety issues whenever there is heavy rain out. Seeing all this flooding and people getting displaced is really, really disheartening...
Shit just got real on the Lougheed Highway between Hope and Agassiz:
Landslides trapped hundreds of people overnight in their cars along Lougheed Highway (Highway 7) between Hope and Agassiz, and many are still stuck many hours later.
Rescuers have been working to free those people trapped by the debris and additional resources are now being brought in.
The Canadian Forces Cormorant helicopters will be conducting rescue flights to bring people out of the heavily flooded area, and the evacuation centre in Agassiz.
Some people have been rescued who were closest to the slides. Some of them were in their vehicles when they began filling with mud and water Sunday night.
The wife, kids, and I were driving back from Creston and we hit Hope at around 5:30pm. Got turned around a couple exits past and had to double back to take the bridge to Hwy 7. Took that to Harrison exits then back onto Hwy 1. The amount of rain coming down just outside Manning Park through to Hope was insane. Waterfalls everywhere, ditches and trenches overflowing, it was a bit nerve racking. Even more so now seeing what has happened since. This is pretty heavy stuff.
holy shit i had to look at that for a while to see the problem, thought it was upside down, thinking to myself what's with all the black space...then i realized

Yesterday I saw one dude here in the farms in South Surrey with 5 mustang fox bodies parked on a driveway that was on higher ground. I presume they were stored elsewhere and moved there. Never have seen them before.
