Bluetooth headphones for a SE k850i??? So I'm using my k850i to listen to music while I'm at the gym, but I HATE the chords...even when I run it under my shirt it gets annoying. I really want to get a pair of wireless headphones...can it be done on a k850i? Bluetooth? I have a Bluetooth headset for it (SE 708) that works great for calling, but even when it's connected when I go to the music player it plays through the phone speaker. Is there any way to either make my BT headset or a dedicated pair of headphones (ideally that's what I'd like) play the music from my phone? TIA |
Yup, you need BT (A2DP) headphones. I recommend the Motorola S9-HD for working out. I use it and it's great! Stay away from the original Motorola S9, those will die if you as much as sweat a single drop. :p I went through three pairs of those through warranty ahahah |
thanks...I saw them today...120 bones plus tax is a little steep (Best Buy)...any other suggestions for A2DP headphones? |
eBay. There are some Sony ones out there too, but all the A2DP stuff that I see locally are either ugly and/or stupidly expensive. I bought my S9-HD on eBay for $50ish. Brand new, and came with an iPod BT adapter too! :D |
I am using motorola S9 as well Don't get it if you love to talk on the phone in bed or resting your head against something and you might look like this http://www.orthodontics.org/headgear.jpg http://www.techfresh.net/wp-content/...rola-s9-01.jpg |
:lol So true LOL Worst is when you see someone else, especially on transit, with the same thing on. You can sit together and look stupid all at once! :lol But at the gym, it looks kinda bad-ass. All the other puny commoners with their wires and getting them caught all over the place....ha. Ha ha. HAHAHAHAH!!!!! :haha: |
Im in the market for a bt headset, mainly for listening to music. but I guess when taht no cellphone ban comes into place i can use it for that too. Is $150 no tax a reasonable budget? |
That'd get you a pretty good one. I hear the Plantronics Backbeat 903s are awesome: http://www.plantronics.com/images/ca...ackbeat903.jpg |
I was thinking more of these: http://onlygizmos.com/content/2009/07/hbh_is800.jpg IMO they dont look like they are worth $150, but its the only stereo bt headset that I like, nice and light, and in-ear. And only place in Van/Canada(according to shopbot.ca) is $$$$$$$$$. $149, but i hear if you pay straight cash you dodge the tax. |
Those have....wires. FAIL! :p |
Yea, sorry bad picture I guess. http://www.ictnews.vn/GetFiles/Image...10647&req=vcms either way all headsets have wires =P it just depends if they are hidden or not haha. well, what do you think of it? want to pair it with my soon to be n97! |
you will regret paying that much and find out it's not much of a difference from a wires OEM headset or $30 A2DP BT headset. I use my BT mostly when I am on train/bus/ferry/walking...but in a environment like that, you will never get the best sound out of it. People chatting, wind noise etc. The only time I can enjoy the high quality of A2DP is when taking a dump or playing PC games at home with BT headset connected. |
Well i want it during transportation. Wireless is just so much easier. Plus when working out/running. It is light weight and no wires going from head to your pockets. The only other thing I could find that i am interested in is this: http://www.tusequipos.com/wp-content...on_mw600_2.jpg But then I dont think this one is out alone yet? Comes with Aino I think. Next option would be, priced at $89 local http://www.cnet.co.uk/i/c/blg/cat/mo...nns07/nine.jpg |

Thanks for the advice...I'm on the hunt for those Motorolas now... Unless...does anyone know of any BIGGER/over the ear BT headphones? I'm not a fan of in-ear ones for a few reasons, I don't think they're comfortable and I've had surgery on my left ear 4 times, burst my ear drum a bunch of times, etc...basically I don't like putting anything quite that close to it... |
http://reviews.cnet.com/headsets/ins...-32786517.html experiences? Opinions? Seems to get an ok review...which is great for the price haha. I mean yeah, sound quality isn't the greatest, but are you really concerned about sound quality at the gym? I know I'm not...as long as it sounds ok, I'm happy. I've got my big/high quality headphones at home :) |
Insignia = cheap garbage. Decent value if you don't care about looks, quality or sound quality, I suppose. The SRS WOW HD or whatever crap they have on the S9-HDs make everything sound awesomer, and the vanilla S9s already had great sound reproduction. S9s are terrible for calls though, and the S9-HDs are much better in that area. I also have the Jabra BT8010 convertible BT headset, and while that one sounds OK, it makes you look stupid. I leave the other earpiece off and use it solely as a normal BT headset haha Also got the iTech R35 BT 3.5mm adapter, which lets you plug in any 3.5mm thing to it. In some cases, you can use it as a BT remote. :p (I do that with my Cowon S9 media player while the Cowon is plugged into big speakers at home) |
hmmm may be a bit bulky for working out...but who knows http://www.wmexperts.com/reviews/blu...bluetooth.html EDIT: yeah, I know Insignia is cheap, but, like I said, it's just for working out, not for watching movies at home or anything...and it can be had for 20 bucks on Ebay :) But I'm leaning more towards the Motorola...unless they're too big for the gym...decisions decisions |
If it's for working out, you want something that's sweat resistant. I would not recommend anything but the S9-HDs for that. Otherwise, your 20 bucks will be gone quickly and never come back nor make pretty music to keep you company. :p |
hmm...the S9 HD is about 2.5x as much as the s805...I don't usually sweat much during weights, only end up sweating while doing cardio...so I'm thinking of getting the s805 and only wearing it for weights (usually about 70% of the time I spend at the gym). Called buy.com...they're the worst company I've talked to in a long time...I think Tigerdirect may be the lucky winner...40 bucks for high quality BT headphones...don't think I can go wrong. |
http://www.cnet.co.uk/i/c/blg/cat/mo...nns07/nine.jpg anyone know where to buy just the earpiece for this? i bought this a year ago but earpiece seems to be broken =(...bluetooth part is still working tho. Anybody know if I have to buy the whole package again or are the two parts sold seperately somewhere? |
hmmm...any other choices beyond these? I guess I'll have to try a set of s9s on...but I'm not usually a fan of in-ear headphones (I've had surgeries on one ear, so the earphones don't like to stay in, and I like to keep the actual speaker as far from my eardrum as possible). Plus, 100 bucks is a lot right now...anyone know of any BT headphones that are in between the s9 and the s805 for size? Thanks :) kid of like the Motorola s305...except I cant find that one cheap...amazon.ca doesn't have it, amazon.com won't ship it to Canada and tigerdirect doesn't have it...on ebay they go for more for a "no box" used one than I could get the s805 brand new from TD |
S9s/S9-HDs aren't in-ear, they just sit right over the ear, uh, hole. Nothing goes in unless your hole is, uh, massive. |
Thanks for the suggestion (I found the S805 while researching your S9 suggestion :)), but I ended up ordering the 805. I just couldn't justify spending more than twice as much for the S9HD. Even the $59 with shipping and taxes is a lot for just gym headphones...but the S9HD would have been around $130-140... I'm simply going to wear it for weights and not listen to music during cardio :) |
So my headphones finally got here and I tried them in the gym (once so far)...only complaint is my ears get a bit hot...the gym is poorly ventillated as it is and gets a little hot in here...having my ears cupped does not help matters much. Solution: every 15 or 20 minutes I take them off for 30 seconds. Other than that...they're perfect...the sound quality is great, love having all the controls there, and they're not too bulky or heavy. I probably look like a dork with huge headphones at the gym...but hey, I'm not there to impress anyone ;) |
