| iPhone with Telus
So here is what has happened to me in the last couple of months.
I was ready to switch over to Rogers/Fido about 2 months ago when they were offering the 6gig for $30.00 but when I called Telus about my buy out cost, the retention officer told me that they are expecting the iPhone to be released on the Telus network. He looked at my plan and said there should be no problem in matching my plan when it comes out but I have to wait till it is officially available.
About a week before the actual release of the iPhone, i called Telus for an update and was advised to call back on Nov 5, 2009. Called them up yesterday and was told they are not changing any iPhone plans and that there is nothing they can do for me. Was pretty upset with the tone of the guy as he sounds like he has been fielding calls all day long about the iPhone but customer service is customer service. I have no problem moving to Rogers/Fido but now the 6gig data plan is not available and have been essentially screwed over by Telus advising me that they can match my phone plan and data plan.
My Current buy out is about $220.00 with Telus with 11months remaining. I have a $300.00 credit with them cause I have a nasty habit of overpaying my cell phone bill.
Now here is the question. should I escalate a complaint or is it a lost cause considering Telus is probably full of themselves with this new network? And do you think Rogers or Fido will be offering that data plan in the near future?

Did you jot down the name of the customer representative and what he told you. That would come in handy. when you file for a complaint.

I work for Telus and I know that if u bitch them out enough, talk to a super and keep complaining tell them what u were promised by L&R they will do something for u especially if u have huge bills, pay ur bills all the time or have been with Telus forever.
The new network is just a tempt thing for us to have a smooth transition into our 4G network

I do have the name of the rep that informed me that it was no problem. I just sent an e-mail to the customer inquiry about my problem. hopefully they will do something about it. I also went to Rogers today to check out their plans and it is no where close to what they were offering about 2 months ago.

yeah, i've been a customer with telus for over a decade plus (started out with clearnet till telus took over them and their advertising scheme that they're still running with - but i digress). however, i have relatively small bills at around $50/mth.
was waiting for telus to come out with the iphone with some smashing plans to outbid rogers/fido for my business but wasn't impressed whatsoever...
pushed at bit at telus customer service and got transferred here and there. didn't really feel like i got much out of it (though what i do get should be good enough for me). felt like it should have been cheaper somehow or i should have gotten more product/services:
no discount on hardware whatsoever.
i get their $50 iphone plan (going with the double-anytime minutes)
plus for $10, i get voicemail 10, call display, and unlimited text messages.
plus for the first year of a three year contract, i don't have to pay the $10/mth.
meh. but i'm just stoked to finally move on to the iphone 3GS... though i know that a new iphone is probably just around the corner...

My friend is wondering whether telus can come up with a retention plan for her on the iphone, she's paying $90 a month if not more -.- They should value her business I'd assume, do you guys think theres any luck?

So after submitting a complaint through e-mail. A rep from the Loyalty and Retention department called me up. He apologized about the csr and the previous csr as they should not be quoting anything until the actual release is completed.
Anyways he gave me a better plan then the posted one.
300.00 towards the iPhone(still under contract for another 12 months)
iPhone plan 50
100 Bonus mins = 250 total
Free caller ID
Free unlimited text messaging
Upgraded to Voicemail 10
Early Evenings and weekends starting at 6pm
My Favorite 5
Call waiting and unlimited call forwarding
1 gig data plan = 500mb free and 500mb included through the plan
everything for $55.00 monthly
Pretty good so I took it right away and got my iPhone last night.
Only crappy thing I notice is that the new network is kinda unstable. The bar jumps like crazy and a couple of times it was out of service.
Hopefully this helps others

Their offers are usually special ones which you wont be able to get their a sales rep. Tell her to bring out the inner bitch and most likely she will get some sort of deal Quote:
