As long as you are prepared to pay the higher insurance, you are good to go.

if your smart, you would be either spend a little to get winter tires or get those bbks off and get your stock brakes + stock wheels/snow tires on

if you have money for bbk you have money for winters. I will never jeopardize my own safety let alone safety of the others around me cause I'm cheap.

and while your at it, why don't you lower your car 1st before getting bbk? It's proven that bbk don't help much. A good set of high end brake pads + rotors at stock size would be very good unless your tracking..... and I doubt you do that

We are getting the pineapple express from Pacific / Hawaii.. that's why the weather is getting warmer.

Once the storm subside and barometric pressure rise, the temperature will drop again..

Don't they teach basic meteorology at schools anymore?

In my school it was only in Geography 12 that I learned it, I don't remember SHIT from that class, even though I got like a 96% final mark.

First off, I got the BBk back in spring when I HAD a job but thanks to the recession i don't have one anymore and I don't have anymore money to spend on my car... I barely had enough for the new tires and they are on the cheap end of all season tires.

second, I don't have my stock calipers anymore because I sold them to pay for the bbk

third, I tried the stock size brake discs with race pads but they started fading after a few laps on Mission raceway and I didn't feel safe which is why i went with the bbk, and yes my car is lowered on Tein Htechs (which only lower by 1") and I didn't want to go lower because of suspension geometry, daily ride comfort, and hitting the underside on speed bumps

fourth, please don't assume things about me when u don't know me, I do track it

well, ill play devil's advocate here.

if u have good tread on all seasons and drive smart u dont really need winter tires in Vancouver weather.
I say that because, i have lived in Quebec and Toronto most of my life. And i have never had winter tires. yes, snow does get cleared faster than Vancouver, but regardless, i have driven in harsher winters (both temp wise and snow wise) than i have has ever seen here in Vancouver.

I did buy winter tires because my all seasons had not enough tread on them, and i got a good deal on winter tires.

Just make sure u have enough tread and know the limits to which u can push ur all seasons, and ull be ok.

ps. and put a bag or 2 of salt in the trunk. that always helps
plus being the olympics and all, i think they will do a better job this year clearing the roads...(i hope)

you can't blame everything on recession, I do lost my job last year in September. But hey I GOT A NEW ONE!

maybe you should too, to pay for some tires.

LOL all jokes aside

half decent rated performance all season will actually do semi alrit in vancouver, except last year. Fuck last year i wasnt going anywhere with brand new performance all season. Sliding and spinning all over the place, so last year was an exception. my buddy was driving around in his Azenis with LSD and never had a problem, crazy guy. Until the bigggg snow fall comes down of course

otherwise with light snow normally all season should be able to handle it, without driving like a retard of course.

Im so fed up with all season tires fuck, in the rain off the line i'd be spinning till the 4th gear, cornering i'd be sliding sideways lol

this of course is with a heavy foot, sometimes im just lazy shifting at 3k u know

cant wait to burn off these stupid all season (and i just got it march 09), summer/winter combo it is next year

On another note, the Bridgestone WS60's on the CSX are much quieter than the Goodyear RS-A's that came as stock tires, which is faintly amusing and quite indicative of the quality of the RS-A's.

The Civic even comes with Michelin MXV4's as stock, which is a much better tire.
Bridgestone WS60 are excellent tires for the money, not the cheapest yet cheaper than other snow tires, Michellein, pirellei, Contiental etc..

sold quite a few..

2nd popular ones would probably be the General artic altimax, had them before they were alrit. Cant compare with the continental Vikings that i have now tho

sand or kitty litter are also options. i saw a tow truck driver using kitty litter for traction to pull a car out of a ditch last year.

I bought snow tires simply because it's illegal to run around in the snow on Kumho Ecsta MX and if I am going to get a separate set of wheels anyway they might as well be wrapped in winter tires.

Yeaaaah just snow already. SFU Burnaby saw snow but it didn't stick. Gay.

Why do you have to buy at Costco? It's so expensive there... check out our sponsors!

The PA3 is better, obviously, since it's newer. What car? The Xi2 is supposed to be very good as well.

get everything at www.discounttiredirect.com
i got my 4 Hankook Ipikes there for only $200USD

or better yet, drive down to portland and get a set there!

shops in vancouver charge $20 per wheel to mount...
in the states, it's FREE! (at walmart) and if you go to tire shops it's under $10!!! AND they throw in a free alignment!

i got a super deal last time i went to portland on some all-seasons, it would cost $900-1000 if i bought it locally with mounting and taxes.
