2009 Mazda3 winter tire sizes?

Anyone know if narrower tires than the 205/50/17's will fit on the stock rims? I'm looking at putting a narrower set of snow tires on if possible.

May I ask why? I've never seen a tire narrower than 205 for a 17" rim? Otherwise you might be able to go 195 assuming you can find a matching profile.

The narrowest OEM size is 195/65R15 and that's assuming you have a non-2.3L engine (those came with larger front brakes that need a 16" rim for clearance). The OEM 16" specs are 205/55R16.

You can check with the people at BCMazda3 for more details.

A narrower tire does better in snow. Thanks!

i think it is better if you get a smaller size rim... 16" perhaps and have a taller aspect ratio..195 -17"s are pretty rare.

Yeah, I'm probably going to have to go to a set of 16" steelies to get the 195's.

Thanks!
