my house phone is not programmable in anyway, its a legit caller ID

yes its possible, with shaw home phone at least (i realise this is a 778 number), cause when i signed up for them, they asked me what name they would like to be showed on the other person's caller ID.

By law, you are allowed to create a display name of 15 characters or less and not allowed to create a display name that is obscene. For example, Butt S3kz or Die Jesus etc.

When activating a phone, It always asked what I wanted the caller ID to show as.
I had a guy come in, didnt have good enough credit for a contract, so he said he'd bring me a bottle if I could have him talking on a phone within the hour and walked away.

I set him up on paygo, with his caller ID as "THE MAN". Figured he really would be if he brought a bottle for me :P

I've had some GREAT nickname added to ppl's caller ID's. Always made the sale more personal and solid when I asked what nickname they wanted their caller ID to be.

(Note: I no longer sell phones.)

Am I allowed to change my caller ID anytime I want? Or is it stuck to whatever name it was when I signed the contract.

scroll through the directory on THAT phone (not any of the other bases)
i have that as my home phone and i created a small phonebook in there.
