most 1:24 arent that great.. good/ decent 1:18 are easier to get and are usually more detailed..

1/24 isnt very popular for die-cast, 1/43 have more chooices if space is limited for 1/18.

The material being used isnt that bad, the thing I really hate is their (autoart) sealed models. but in another hang it's good that I dont need to start collecting JGTC models. (and I stop collecting WRC model because of that)

Your posts prompted me to buy a 1/24 Fujimi model kit. I've never tried building before and don't know what I'm getting myself into... 
Can someone please tell me what building tools and supplies (tweezers, glue, paint, etc) and where to buy them?

You really need to go into a hobby shop and buy some supplies to get started.
A good selection of testors enamel paints - not only for the body of the car, but also for misc. things like interior, lights, rims, trim, etc etc. I suggest having:
-White
-Silver
-Gray
-Black
-Red
-Blue
-Yellow
- and Clear Coat.
As your basic colors that you always have on hand.. you can always mix them on a separate palette (never mix in the bottle or even in the caps) in order to get the color you need.
I also suggest a getting some enamel thinner, to thin out paints and to keep your brushes clean.
1 - super super thin brush (or a medium brush and cut off some of the bristles)
1 - medium brush
1 - fat soft brush
If you want to do really nice smooth paint finishes on large surfaces, I recommend an airbrush kit, although you can still get good results by brushing on the paint by hand, as long as the paint is thin and the brush has fine, not coarse, bristles.
You also need some coarse, medium, and fine sandpaper (to clean the attachment points where you break off the parts)
And also some liquid/paste polish. Once you've painted the part, you can apply the polish to make it shiny and deep/rich. This will keep it glossy.. otherwise the finishes often go matte.
Of course you will need a few sharp knives/razors, and tweezers.
The best glue to get is simply testors plastic cement - that kind that actually MELTS the plastic. (so be careful never use too much!)
I also have a small bowl that I put the decals in to soak, before applying them to the model. Q-tips & a tweezer are helpful for application.
Resist the temptation to twist or pull parts off the part tree. Cut them off!!!

^i recommend getting a tamiya kit instead, fujimi kits' parts and pieces arent made that well.
