Wireless Cell Phone charger.
 

I saw an ad in the LD flyer about a wireless cell phone charger, it charges everything including your nintendo DS. its just a pad that you plug into the wall and you place your cell phoen on and other rechargeable devices on it...

im thinking of getting one because of my various gadgets that constantly need plugging in. anybody seen it? use it? know how well it works?

Yeah, we just got the new power mats... we're going to put it on display soon. it's a pretty cool gimmick.

As with any cool novelty gadget, it's pretty expensive.
the mat goes for 99 on it's own, and the battery covers are 40 bucks...

it basically works off witch craft...

Same tech as in electric toothbrushes, the Palm Pre's Touchstone dock, lots of other things.

so you'll end up shelling out more money than the 100 bucks for the mat?

thats shitty, whats the point. you're gonna end up plugging somethign into your phone anyways why not the wire eh.

And it's not as fast as a real-deal phone charger. The Palm Pre takes like six hours to charge with the Touchstone, I think? Sick. Even USB charging is faster. A bona fide wall wart is still the way to go.
