i do not eat enough fruits or vegatables, is there a supplement i can take? i barely ever eat fruits, i wish i was not lazy enough to eat some... is there a type of pill i can take instead of eating fruits everyday.. i beleive u need to eat about like 5 fruits or something a day correct? |
I supplement my daily veggies and fruit with Greens + and the occasional V8. You can find Greens + at Save-On or Shoppers, some ppl aren't a fan of the taste, but mix it with orange juice and its not bad at all. http://greensplus.com/ |
drink juice. i never trust supplements . what so hard eating a banana? i think thats the laziest fruit you can eat. But ya, like 7seven said, V8 is pretty good if you are really on the go.. I also enjoy those fruit bars they sell at safeway. |
Greens+ is good, it doesn't replace proper food. Don't drink fruit juice thinking that it's just like eating fruit. It is more like drinking Pepsi. The idea of eating 5 fruits a day is hilarious. Just eat what feels right. Try to eat veggies as much as you can comfortably, and supplement with something like Greens+ and a good multivitamin. |

However, IMO nothing can really replace all the benefits of the real thing. The all natural sugars in the fruits, aka, good carbs are best absorbed by your body, along with the Vitamins and minerals in the fruit. Rule of thumb, the less processed, straight from the real thing is always going to be best. |

I was referring to the fact that fruit juice is pretty much pure sugar, like regular Pepsi is. The carbs in fruit are not "good carbs". In fact, fructose is pretty much the worse carb of all. If you do want to eat a lot of fruit, the best way is to eat the ones that are the most dense nutritionally. Berries are best - blueberries, raspberries, cherries, etc. They are packed full of antioxidants, and don't have as much sugar in ratio. Eating fruits like grapes, bananas, and apples, you are getting a lot more sugar but not as much antioxidants or vitamins as you would with berries. |
You could always buy a juicer and juice up a veggie cocktail. |
im definately going to pick up greens and also eat berries whenever i can |
i eat like 4-5 fruits a day just started in the last few months actually feel better all around |
what is a good multivitamin to take? I always thought for cheap vitamins, your body doesn't absorb any of it. is this a good MV? http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/in/livingmen.html |
lol just looked at the canadian food guide and it recommends males 19-30 should have 10 servings of fruit/veg a day. |

i a buy a shit load of banana's. if i really feel like it, grapes, and other easy-wash, non-peel, easy to prep fruits. it's the only way man. as for veggies i lack that, lol maybe i should just buy tomatoes and munch on those. ...and baby carrots |
V8 is ok, if you drink the 'low-sodium' version.. |
I have not had a fruit or veggie in over 10 years. neg side effects? I'm not very hairy. thats all I can think of. |

anyway, I'm currently taking these: http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=1192 though I'm considering switching to just the Regular Now ADAM one http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=6211 as it's cheaper and the ingredients are the same (even one of the reviews indicates this). I was told it doesn't have enough calc so I'm also taking an additional mag/cal supplement. I think my total for the day would be around 1000mg calcium and 300-400 magnesium Seems to be working great for me so far. |
how much harder is eating real fruits compared to swallowing pills....? you can never fully replace the nutrients found in fruits with pills... |
I just take an apple, orange, banana or whatever fruit I have on tap with my lunch. It was one of the easiest ways I could incorporate fruit into my diet. However, those supplements that SkinnyPupp mentioned sound pretty good, I take some generic Vitamin C bullshit from grocery stores just to make my mother happy about what my brother and I have in terms of veggies, but the cost of the supplements sounds like a good trade off for a somewhat vegetable alternative. |
