the 8.95 fee is the old SAF the current one that is about to expire is 6.95 +911 fee ($.75) which will equal to $7.70 If you signed a contract with the $8.95 then you would have stuck with the price even when the $7.70 was introduced. Bell is gettting rid of the fee as the customers are all dumb. all complaining that the fees are retarded and rather go to Rogers or Telus little to do they know that Rogers and Telus just raised the prices in stead. Due to losing the mass amount of miss informed customers, Bell has taken the fees off. Since November Bell has offered reduced SAF on all post paid price plans. Instead of raising the price plans. Bell has tried to get rid of the SAF awhile ago. Some of you may have the plans. The All In One plans were introduced. However, the customers then all were asking why the plans were so expensive compared the competitors. Thus forcing Bell to go back to the SAF. |
Damn, so I'm still paying 50 bucks a month. Sucks. |
If you already have a price plan with Bell, your exisiting SAF will stay active. Your price plan will not be inpacted. Only new activations will have the SAF waived. The reason behind this is the old price plans are cheaper than the new price plans. New customers will get the SAF waived, but have increased prices on plans. |

Wait............... so K2_Alpha, so its 100% certain they are taking off the SAF? :D :D:D:D:D?? |
it's the same shit as rogers then. they remove SAF but jack up the plan prices and you end up paying the same thing. |
^^ Buddy who works at Bell just confirmed. Yep, SAF is disappearing tomorrow. However, plan rates are getting cranked. I don't know by how much though. |
by enough just to make up for the SAF ~ so in the end you save maybe 1 or 2bux |
Hmm... can they still charge SAF to new customers after tomorrow? Like, my dad's company is offering a corporate plan with bell and its a really good deal, but it says SAF and 911 is included and the offer expires 12/31/09. So.... think they will take that SAF off? |
all old rate plans will still have the saf/911. all new rate plans will not have it but you'll notice the new rate plans will be about $5 more. ex. old plan for $25 + saf/911 = $32.70 + tax new plan $30 = $30 + tax the new plans are not going to be that great with the saf/911 excluded depending on what you currently have right now so you better compare your existing plan + features with what it will cost you tomorrow. |
Hmm.. I guess todays the day eh? I wonder when they will announce the new plans + no saf... |
Here it is people! Bell officially drops System Acceess Fees and 911 fees By Ian Hardy ⋅ November 20, 2009 ⋅ Post a comment For those who are Bell, or want to be on Bell the good news is that they have dropped the monthly $6.95 System Access Fees and the $0.75 Carrier 911 Fees. There will be no formal announcement but you’ll notice on the Bell site that the fees are removed from the plans. The dropped fees are only good for new, upgrading or migrating clients. For those who are current customers and want their fees dropped you’ll have to switch over to a new plan in which Bell has also changed to be more competitive (they’ve also now included call forwarding) and from what we can tell have been increased by $5. We’re finding more about this and will report back shortly. |

So I guess the fees arn't taken off of all the plans :S |

the new plans dont have it. not sure why people cant comprehend that. |
^What I meant was that they arn't taken off of all the new plans. Since kardboard's post names the specific ones they are taking off? |
who cares if they are taken off or not? you are still paying for it one way or another ~ no SAF but the phone plan cost a bit more.. what's the difference? I'm not paying SAF!!! but my plan cost more than urs? |
^I was offered corporate plan 20.00 but it says SAF will be included for 7.70. So do I need to pay 7.70? Or do I just pay my corporate plan 20 and not pay extra? |

Corporate plans for a company are negotiated between the company and Bell, so you will not see ANY changes, even if you are a new customer. Typically these plans are renegotiated annually. Because of this, there's no real reason to hold off on a corporate plan (ie waiting for SAF to drop) because if you won't be locking any old rates in, even with a contract. When they renegotiate a new rate (whether higher or lower), everyone under the plan changes together, contract or not. I confirmed this with Bell today. I'm on corporate and the SAF is still there for me. |
Drop SAF, jack up phone plan price, really no difference in the end to me. |
in the end you save roughly $2.70 old plans are $5 cheaper but with a $7.70 SAF. do the math. This is true for MOST rate plans, not all. |
Anyone here work for Bell? I am trying to activate a 3 - year voice plan WITH NO DATA and I want to buy the iPhone, but the rep said that you can only buy the iPhone ONLY if you sign up for a contract with DATA plan.... Now on the website it says this: "Apple iPhone 3GS - $199.95 On a 3 year term when activating a min voice and data plan combination or combo plan requirements of $50 or greater. Bell reserves the right to limit the usage. Out of bundle rates may apply. For new activations. Offer ends November 26th, 2009 " So now that its December 2nd, would I be able to just purchase the iPhone with just a voice plan? I know that at Fido, Rogers, and Telus, you can purchase the phone regardless what plan you have....But I guess its different at Bell? Someone school me on this! |
^^ you can buy the iPhone without getting a data plan. ........you just have to pay for the iPhone at FULL REGULAR PRICE and no contract attached. you've been schooled. |

If you're really desperate for an iPhone, just buy an old 3G and jailbreak + unlock it. Sure your phone won't be brand new but it's the most cost-effective solution. |
