so my question is...

where do you guys park when u work at brian jessel bmw?

You can try the side street beside McD if you start late. If all fails, park at McD.

congrats, I'll be needing some parts for my repair, should I PM u?

Oh, and I dunno if I should mention it, but I dun really like that Jackie guy in the service department or wutever. He screwed me over a couple of times.

Jackie is a good guy. If you have concerns, contact Customer Relations. ;)

EmperorIS 11-23-2009 09:00 PM

did u put revscene on ur resume ?

!SG 11-24-2009 06:42 AM

i honestly did not want to push RS too much, i want them to give me a chance via my abilities, and not who im affiliated with.

in fact, if u met me at an RS meet, i intro myself as either Asian1, or asianhypa (which both are not true at all) =)

But i definately want to get something going with Brian Jessel BMW. I think it would be great for both, especially at events, automotive reviews, autoblogs, u name it =)

RFlush 11-24-2009 06:49 AM

I used to work at BJ BMW as well. Is Charlie still in charge of the parts department? Todd and Kristy still there?

I haven't been back in ages but I still play poker with the business managers there.

!SG 11-24-2009 06:56 AM

Charlie is still there!

He was one of the guys at my first Interview! Seem's like such a nice guy, i was perfectly honest with him about my ability in automotive parts department, so im greatful he didnt put a big red X on my resume, hahaha...

RFlush 11-24-2009 07:05 AM

Who else is still working the parts department?

Do you play poker?

!SG 11-24-2009 07:33 AM

actually, i dont know anyone in parts, my first interview process consisted of walking and and out of charlies office.

never met any of the guys.

hence why i posted here on RS, to see who else worked there =)

dink 11-24-2009 03:53 PM

Saw SG today for a bit, when he was taking his tour and when I was walking through shipping and parts. Looks like you're doing just fine.

I'm Mike in the drive thru. The really young looking asian guy.

- Boundary, usually filled up by 7:30am
- Lougheed/broadway good until 3pm (gotta move behind mcdonalds or get lucky and find a spot on boundary) I suggest making a friend that finishes at 3pm, like me lol
- Street behind mcdonalds/harley
- Mcdonalds parking lot, if you have a parking pass or if you want to test your luck.
- There is another street beside lot 2, across the street from the dealership (quite a bit of a walk)

You'll see my white civic si parked on lougheed until 3pm.

Wolfe will soon be used, from I've been told. You'll find out soon enough.
So far, we have spa (detail), alloy rim repair, colourworks stationed there.

EDIT: Got bored, so I made you some maps. Highlighted in red is where you can park.

dink 11-24-2009 07:13 PM

So my first day. OMG THERE ARE SO MANY PPL!!!!

I forgot most of the ppl's names already,

I remember Todd, the parts guy, because he drove me over to wolfe briefly to see the other lot, and also because we share the same hair cut.

So my first day, i was upstairs filling forms for a bit, took the whmis test, went over some proceedures, then by the time that was over, it was lunch break. was bored, and so went to n-motion to say hi, and chat. went back got to finally meet the staff, met a lot of ppl A LOT OF PPL!!! i dont even remember their names, i feel bad!

but so this is how things goes, there is another new parts guy there, he's got more experience than me and plus hes in since monday, and so he is being trained first. im gonna be working in shipping for the next while, which is cool, so i get a hang of the system, how parts work there, and so on, and there are a lot of parts! a LOT! its like bmw canadian tire in there!, parts everywhere but no bob villa look alike!

So for the next few weeks, im gonna dress down so i can do parts handling with them.

Overall, a great first day and experience meeting everyone. Everyone really does feel like family in there, so its very cool! I actually kinda know one of the parts guys, he was at honda before, as the parts guy i delt with =P

If you work there, and are on RS, feel free to call me SG. =)

no clue, but the group of ppl working there right now seem very friendly, so thats awesome to me! i feel so "green" there, complete noob!

Iron Chef 11-24-2009 09:11 PM

from what i hear BJ isn't a good place to work. ther seems to be an extremely high rate of turn over. The company i work for poached a bunch of techs from there and non of them had anything good to say about it.

On the surface it might seem like a prestigious place to work but once you get down to it its a toxic work environment.... well from what i hear at least.

threezero 11-24-2009 09:18 PM

^^ ditto my ex used to work there she didn't like it very much

your VIP Lexus probably won't fit in to all those machanics' autox cars - M3, ITR, S2K, etc.

Senna4ever 11-24-2009 10:41 PM

Congrats on your new job!!

!Tigger 11-24-2009 11:49 PM

i always see that yellow 240 on boundary hahah does he work at bmw?

!SG 11-25-2009 05:28 AM

haha, im trying to find my fit in place right now =P

yeah i know, but then us VIP'ers/Executive'ers are are a rare breed. we even walk with our legs extremely tilted in

i honestly dont know. it seems like everyone is super busy yesterday running around, so all the greetings i got were quick. Forget about trying to remember what cars ppl drive, im still just trying to remember names for now!

So this for at least this week, they got me in the back helping out with shipping to learn the computer system ropes. then after the other new guy gets fully trained, its my turn. And since i didnt get a work shirt yet, ill be walking around flossin my RS work shirt. so if that doesnt make me stick out like a sore thumb, i dont know what will!
