I never watched Babylon 5 so I don't know if you're trying to say that would be a good thing or bad thing to happen to the show.
I suppose it would all depend on the execution.
Totally a good thing, if they can pull it off. B5 was planned out as a five-year story, but with its entire universe laid out a million years in either direction as well, which made for a very solid continuity throughout.

OT, I really like how they shot the scenes back on Earth. Handy-cam style with realistic settings. Everything doesn't look so polished and perfect like how they used to shoot SG-1 and Atlantis.
They've done a good job of conveying the usage of the Alien Communication Stones, that's for sure... it's not nearly as confusing as it could be

The thing about b5, is that it's now like 15 years old, and was filmed on a shoestring budget. when you watch it it'll look pretty cheap. But if you can get around that, the acting and story is PHENOMENAL (excluding season 1 :P )
They laid out the groundwork so that BSG and SGU could be made today.

Watching the DVDs, the effects are still pretty good by today's TV standards. Maybe not STUNNING, but still a lot better than a lot of what you see on TV now.
And the story may be a little rough through season 1, but it sets up for everything that comes after - there's very little in there that doesn't tie into the greater storyline somewhere later on.

Just to let everyone know, season two starts tonight on space at 7:00. The show has been chanceled but they have 10 episodes to end it with so all of our questions will be answered.
