NVM, just got one at the Metrotown location. It’s on their touch screen thingy. The kiosks. Not in the app. It’s pretty darn good. Thumbs up!

TOS'd 07-23-2021 08:24 PM

Went into the store to pick up my order and I saw the $2 ad for the strawberry milkshake. Weird it doesn't show in the app.

Was decent, I found it a bit sweet. But that's likely due to that artificial strawberry flavour. Would be good if they had chocolate like the old twist cone flavour. Not bad for $2.

$2 coffee frappe > ice capp

LOL.......... A&W now has a "Kids' Pack." same idea as a Happy Meal. As far as I can tell, no toys inside. Not even a Root Bear sticker. Everyone knows it's the toys that make the McDonald's Kid's meal, Happy.

Nobody gonna care about grass fed beef or chicken raised without hormones and antibiotics, right? Compostable box? Aren't all paper products compostable?

It was just meh. I've been collecting various sorts of spicy sauces ever since the Hot Ones shows. I have about 20 different bottles at home and all taste better adding that to the regular burgers.

Currently I like putting dirty dick's between my buns.

punkwax 08-17-2021 05:00 PM

^ same same. Da Bomb is absolute hate in a bottle :lol

Interesting. Where do you buy these?

mikemhg 08-18-2021 10:27 AM

^Ya where did you get these? Gourmet Warehouse, or online?

Da Bomb is literally the most pointless hot sauce, it's just pure fire in a bottle, with little actual flavor.

punkwax 08-18-2021 10:38 AM

I’ve found Amazon is a decent place price wise for hot sauces. Secret Aardvark and Heartbeat are priced well there compared to hot sauce shops like the one at Art Knapps.

Heartbeat bottle tips are so small they’ll often plug. So you squeeze harder then BOOM hot sauce load all over the place. Small annoyance that will probably stop me from ordering more any time soon.

sonick 08-18-2021 02:54 PM

Secret Aardvark is great. Also the XXXspicy El Yucateco. Both are available at Gourmet Warehouse.

Dirty Dicks is good, a bit on the sweet side which isn't my go to but still pretty legit.

Obsideon 08-18-2021 06:07 PM

This was briefly talked about in another thread but I forget which one.

The first time I went to Art Knapps but it's kinda far.

I've been going to 2 shops locally to pickup different hot sauces:
Lucifer's on Denman and this other shop in Kits, I forget the name but it's on 4th between a cannabis store and Linh Cafe.

Secret Aardvark is yummy but not enough heat for me.
If you are looking for a spicy one with kick and flavour, try Headless Horseman Horseradish.
Da Bomb is meh, it's just, pain and no flavour.

Kilinim 08-18-2021 06:51 PM

Secret Aardvark is on sale at London Drugs!

Vansterdam 08-19-2021 06:31 AM

secret aardvark was also on sale @ buy low last I checked maybe a week ago.

Lucifer's on Denman is the best local spot for hot sauce. followed by So low foods

Gourmet warehouse and Art knapps also have a decent selection.

I like the heatbeats scorpion and red habanero. I also have the blueberry habanero one and the Dustin Poirier one, which is like a very flavorful but mild Louisiana hot sauce.

got almost 40 bottles of hot sauce in my collection lol. Da bomb is prob the spiciest one that I own thats just for fun

I would say my favorite out of all of them, esp for burgers is the Truff Hot sauce (red bottle)

go for the black bottle if you want something less spicy but man this shit is amazing on almost everything.

punkwax 08-19-2021 08:07 AM

I’ll keep an eye out for the Truff.

Got a bottle of Mad Dog 357 I have yet to open. We do wings every Sunday afternoon with a big veggie platter at my place so I’ll give it a try this weekend.

Edit: forgot.. no Sunday wings this weekend I’ll be enjoying a seafood tower at Beach House for our anniversary

(This no longer feels like the McDs thread :lol )

Obsideon 08-19-2021 01:37 PM

Ah damn I knew I should have got the red Truffle. The black one is not spicy at all for me, but it does have nice flavour. Pricey little bottle though lol

spiciest, but most flavorful bottle I have is probably this pepper north stargazer

Grabbed a white and red Truff today from Art Knapps. $32 for red $60 for white there but it’s for part of an anniversary gift so oh well.

MG1 08-21-2021 02:04 PM

This thread is now about hot sauces.............. okay, then.

I love Art Knapps and I haven't been there for a long ass time. Anyway, Art Knapps, has a really good selection of wind chimes. I have so many wind chimes, it's driving the neighbours bonkers. I like the sound of soothing wind chimes. "Beats," the hell out of aluminum pie plates, however....................... lol. danned had to move from where he lived last time, to get away from the loud sound of pie plates. I think a murder of crows in the neighbourhood is, by far, the most annoying sound. Oh, wood"fucking"peckers............. now they are as annoying as all hell. Especially when they choose your B Vent stack as their soundboard.

Kilinim 08-21-2021 04:05 PM

Picked up 2 of the Secret Aardvark hot habanero and 2 of their Drunken Garlic. Tried the hot habanero, it's more akin to Sriracha IMO. Nothing to write home about. Haven't tried the drunken garlic yet.

I thought the secret Aardvark stuff was meh. the drunken garlic was decent as a wing marinade

I dare someone to try some of this stuff

Tried the white and red Truff hot sauce today. Very, very good. The sad part is, I’m pretty sure my wife will be hitting Art Knapps and spending $90+ for two bottles of hot sauce regularly in future. She loves it.

Thanks Vansterdamnyou. LUL

Art Knapps seems like its overpriced for alot of the hot sauces... I think Lucifer has the best prices locally/online for the truff stuff at least.($48 white,$24 red) free shipping over $100 or hit up their shop on Robson and Denman...

I went while waiting for my korean corn dogs to be ready across the street lol (chung chun, totally worth it but expect a line.) https://chungchunricedog.ca/menu/

they also recently released a bunch of truff pasta sauce I been eyeing... hoping the white truff goes on sale cause $$$ lol.. it be worth it compared to some of the hot ones sauce that are going for 30+.

anyways back onto mcdicks lol. apparently Mcdicks has a big announcement on Monday about a new menu item ..https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/08...cpizza-canada/

alot of people think it was gonna be the mcpizza but they finally came out and said it wasent. people think its gonna be spicy chicken nuggets instead

MG1 08-29-2021 11:26 PM

Did someone just say, "McPizza"?
