It is the worst tasting thing McD has put out so far in its entire history of being a fast food restaurant.

Fricken bring the McPizza back, NAO!

McRibs? I miss McRibs so muchie.

OK, there is something almost as bad as the CBO. The grilled onion sandwich thing down in the US. It's a buck, but so not worth it, IMHO.

Speaking of chicken,
I popped down today to the Mariner's game.
Went to Jack in the Box for bfast as usual.
Was going to get a sourdough jack, but saw this instead.

Obviously does not come out looking as nice as the photo.

Consider this, it's like what a McChicken wants to be.
Better bun, 2 chicken patties, 2 slices of cheese (soft and melty), lettuce and tomatoes.
At $4 for the combo, I wonder why they don't have a franchise here.

Too many regulations?

SkinnyPupp 08-29-2013 04:07 AM

Regulations? You think we're in USSR or something? ;)

It's because Canada's population is overall too low to be concerned with. At most they might open 1 or 2 stores... I guess a few American franchises have done that.. is there still a Carl's Jr in Surrey?

xilley 08-29-2013 04:29 AM

Jack in the box.. Love their curly fries..

I was thinking more along the lines of no "pink slime" allowed in Canada. Somewhat higher min wage, etc. Start up costs would be high I imagine. New packaging (French and maybe Chinese, LOL).

GVR and GTA should be able to support a franchise or two. But like you said, 1/10 population might not be worth the hassle. Plus, McD's has a pretty good stronghold.

I had that a few weeks ago, the burger wasn't bad. But damn, the patties tasted VERY artificial, the texture of the meat was softer than your typical fast food patty.. I was thinking what they put in it while I was eating it.

guurl 08-29-2013 12:32 PM

I don't really eat McD any more, but before when I did...

mcdouble with filet pattie and tar tar sauce........

BrRsn 08-29-2013 01:03 PM

Never heard of one being opened in Surrey...yet. But there's one in Chilliwack and another in downtown Vancouver.

ziggyx 08-29-2013 06:54 PM

^ I also ran into one or two Carl's Jr stores up north surprisingly.

punkwax 08-29-2013 07:25 PM

I had Carl's Jr in Kelowna today. There's another one in Vernon.

willystyle 08-29-2013 07:39 PM

Carl's Jr is so expensive for what you get in Canada. At that price point, you're better off getting a real burger.

I drive by the one in downtown regularly, there's always barely anyone in there.

For those that care, Monopoly's back starting next week.

Inaii 09-20-2013 02:45 PM

In case anyone likes the McWraps, they're half price from Sept 18-21. Got one for lunch since I like their sweet chili sauce :) Not sure if this is all McDonald's, but definitely the one on Willingdon and Still Creek.

meme405 09-20-2013 06:50 PM

Uggghhh so hunnggggyy craving mcd's now.

In light of the dicussion on carl jr's how much more expensive (if any) is it then five guys?

If its the same quality and relatively simmilar price then I guess its okay. I would go to five guys more often but the one in west van is closed while the renovations are on-going.

Not really racist! 10-18-2013 09:48 AM

McRib is returning... as is Poutine and Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe, Smarties McFlurry

Free coffee on Oct 28th (probably the week of the 28th?)

I doubt if their franchise moved up to Canada that their combos would still be as cheap as they are in the states.

i.e. Mcdonalds 20 piece nuggets for 4.99 in the states. 10 nuggets in Canada are like 5.49 or something.

Get half, pay more.

v_tec 10-19-2013 11:47 AM

Any ETA for the poutine?

Harvey Specter 10-24-2013 09:00 PM

Anyone try the after eight pie?
