^Fries back then were SO good. If I had a time machine, Mcdonalds pre-trans fat scare would be one of my first stops lol. When they changed the oil I immediately thought "oh man I'm never going to have these again!!!". Now that sweet memory of the old fry taste is all but fleeting :(

As for the nuggets- I have to say I like them now more than before. I remember noticing the change when they first made the switch and thought it was for the better.

But those pre-trans-fat-oil fries... mannnnn... those I wish we could get back :'(

fliptuner 02-04-2014 02:22 PM

They were a lot juicier back then.

And don't forget.... fried apple pies. :sweetjesus:

Actually it wasn't trans fat they used back then, it was saturated fat (beef tallow). They replaced it with trans fat, then eventually removed the trans fat, replacing it with the chemicals people are complaining about now.

Exactly, if anything, the beef tallow they used back then is alot healthier than the crap they put in their food now.

m3thods 02-04-2014 03:49 PM

Ah my bad. In my mind I was thinking saturated fat, but was mixed up with the whole trans-fat issue and subsequent oil replacement.

Thanks for correcting my inability to type what I was thinking :okay:

Pork/Beef lard makes everything tastes better :sweetjesus:

fliptuner 02-04-2014 10:44 PM

Natural fat is best fat.

On that note, they started stocking whipped butter again. It was phased out for awhile, in favour of margarine.

Anyone get the fan pack yet? 20 nuggets fries drink cookie and Olympic pin for 13.99?

m3thods 02-09-2014 10:23 AM

Yep I'm going for number 3 sometime this week (no, it's not just for me).

I already have all 4 pins lol

Btw if you're a cookie fan- their oatmeal raisin is as good as any that I've tried out there. Paired with their coffee is best bro mmmmmmm

Went to McDonalds when I was in Honolulu because they were advertising these new banana pies. To my surprise, they were deep fried and soooooooooooooo goood :sweetjesus:

fliptuner 02-10-2014 01:24 AM

mmmm.... Portuguese sausage big breakfast

mako 02-12-2014 04:48 PM

Came back from Bellingham
For 15 bucks: 20 Nuggets, 2 Mediums Fries, 2 Medium Drinks, 2 Quarter Pounders

m3thods 02-12-2014 05:13 PM

^As much as I love my Canadian fan-pack, that American one sounds offensive lol

Alby 02-12-2014 05:45 PM

the only difference is we get 2 cookies instead of 2 quarter pounders lol. better bang for buck in states.

m3thods 02-13-2014 12:30 AM

Obviously. But I already have trouble finishing the Canadian fan pack with the fiancee. Add burgers in the mix and there'll be a nugget surplus. American decadence I suppose.

v_tec 02-13-2014 12:40 AM

Could definitely make use of a Olympic fan pack right now :okay:

I wish McDonald's did delivery just like Asia does :(

BrRsn 02-13-2014 12:25 PM

^So fat

There is a mcdonalds 3 blocks away from me, but no drive thru.
Or there's a drive thru like 5kms away from me

90% of the time, drive thru :fuckyea:

Coupons have been out in the mail for about a week now. If you didn't get one, you can always print them out. I just want the 50% off Signature McWrap coupon

print :: McDonalds.ca

I wonder why they don't institute a national policy where they accept the coupon via presentation of it on a mobile phone.

At the risk of sounding like a hippy but a little environmental stewardship would be nice and you wouldn't have to waste all that ink.

m3thods 03-07-2014 07:47 AM

^Agreed. Some managers let it slide, but most insist on hard-copies of the coupons. It makes no sense as they must spend a ton of money on printing when they can spend a fraction of that with the ability to show them online, or a localized app (initial capital investment aside).

lilaznviper 03-07-2014 04:49 PM

anyone try the steak wrap yet? coupon didn't work for the steak wrap so i didn't get it :okay:

It's also bad for business since many people won't bother going unless they have coupons.

MG1 03-07-2014 06:50 PM

I had a chicken bacon wrap........ damn these things are nice. Can be devoured easily while driving. No drip, no mess......... and it's half the price of burgers. I think I paid like $2.50 something with tax.

Little Richard, you bastard........ when you gonna show up at our meets? If you show up and coupon is still good, I'll buy you one.
