That's pretty much what everyone (I know, at least) says when they go to NYC especially around Times Square.
Guessing it's due to cost of operations.

It's $0.50 now.
If they're going to dick me like this, I'm going to start asking for the lettuce and Mac sauce separately again.

less than 50 cents, but still charged | I don't believe the charges for these things are standardized. Every location sets their own prices for them. Maybe some places are still less than 40¢.

Pretty sure you can get 2 McDoubles for the price of 1 Big Mac? Big Macs are expensive for what you get IMO. But I still order them once in a while.
I've never actually asked for McDouble "like a mac" but got one on Main near Terminal one day. I was pretty hungover at the time and it was awesome! Thank you random McDs employee.

Jeez, I like McDonalds as much as the next guy, if not more, but how do some people complain about a $1.79 McDouble when a lot of these same people pay $5 or more on a grande mocha latte no whip in a venti cup with extra foam? |

A big mac will set you back more than $5. You can get 2 McDoubles "like a mac" and still have some change left over. The only difference between the two are the buns used (and the middle bun missing in the mcdouble). It's pretty much the same sandwich for more than half off. Quote:

It was a PSA on something that was once free now having an extra surcharge. I'm still going to get a McDouble like a mac during the few times I go because it's still a better deal for pretty much the same thing as a big mac.

It's not like it's any more difficult to order. There's a reason why they even programmed a button for "Like a Mac" on their cash register.

Mac sauce is a pretty good invention.
It's sweet like ketchup
Creamy like mayo
vinegary like pickles.
Lettuce adds a refreshing feel to a burger.
There's a very good reason these are common burger condiments, and it's not just because places are trying to copy McDonald's.
A McDouble "like a mac" is all the goodness of the Big Mac,
With pretentious bullshit of it being served to you in a box.
Less mess of stray lettuce spilling everywhere.
and greater meat-to-bread ratio.

Being a cheap fuck at McDonalds of all places is one thing, but this is an actual good reason to order a McDouble "like a mac".
Good luck doing that in HK though |
