used that build your own burger thing at the cassiar location on sunday

I was kind of under the assumption you could customize a big mac all sorts of crazy ways but the only thing you can truly customize are the angus burgers

ended up with:

Brioche bakery style bun
2 X angus patties
2 X standard american cheese
double mac sauce
Garlic aoili
crispy onions
jalapenos
bacon
lettue

fuck.. best mcdicks burger i've ever tasted lol.. was like $12 just for the burger though

:okay:

:heckno: at $12 was it better than ordering a burger at like fatburger/veras/5guys/restaurant?

bcrdukes 09-27-2016 04:12 PM

My opinion only, and others will disagree, but the Build Your Own Burger has been consistently better than any burger I have ever had at places like Fatburger etc. There is a level of consistency in quality, taste, and service. Punch it in the way you like it, grab a seat, and it is delivered to you hot and fresh. I do feel that $12 alone for just the burger is a bit steep, but as I said, it is consistent.

i've only had it that one time, but yea.. i'd take it over those places you just listed for sure.

fat burger, as far as i remember, was a much worse value even as well.

I saw an ad at McDonalds and it was promoting crisscut fries! Has anyone tried it yet? How does it compare to other's, like Carls' Jr.?

I haven't had mcdonalds for so long, then this thread pops up and makes me wanna get 4 bacon mcdoubles with a large coke and strawberry milkshake for dunking my 20 piece chicken nuggets in followed by two warm apple pies. I'd also like 8 breakfast hashbrowns and hotcake syrup please with a breakfast mcwrap for an appetizer.

mmmmmmmmmmmm.........

The wife wanted to try out the waffle fries. I had the day off, so I decided to make it a McD lunch. Along with the fries, we went with double cheeseburgers with extra pickles. The fries are super crispy. They are decent waffle fries, and I recommend them. The double cheeseburger was a nice surprise. I love it. It's the basic cheeseburger with the double the ingredients between the buns. It is so cheesy and delicious, especially with extra pickles. I want more.

Wow! Never knew they had waffle fries. I liked chic-fil-a's lol gonna have to go try it!!

Try extra pickles AND extra onions. So much better.

If I had to pick between the two as to which one I prefer, the McDonald's waffle fries are better than the ones at Chic-Fil-A. The McDonald's ones are crispier as Presto described, whereas the Chic-Fil-A ones are softer and somewhat boring.

I tried McDonald's fries last year in HK and Macau for the first time and it reminded me of the Chic-Fil-a ones. The ones I tried today at McDonald's here in Canada were noticeably different.

are the waffle fries comparable to Carls jr ones?

We usually go with extra pickles and onions, but for some reason we just went with extra pickles. Next time!

I would say they're crispier and tastier. I don't think the CaJu waffles fries are seasoned.

6o4__boi 11-23-2016 11:37 AM

Just went for lunch today lol
Needed to go to Tisol...aaaaaand it turned it into a McDonald's run.

The McDs at Renfrew had a deal where if you get the build your own Angus, you get fries and drink free....asked if i could sub the fries for waffle fries and they let me :victory:

They're not bad...pretty cripsy. My coworker asked if he could have a poutine with waffle fries and they made it for him. I think I'll try that next time.

The whole build your burger thing with artisan wooden platters and some mcdonald's worker going up to you to say they're you're server is a tad overkill tho.

Euro7r 11-23-2016 12:14 PM

I went to Mcd's today to specifically just get the waffle fries. Only come in one size and they are definitely crispy. Costs $3.03.

Mr.HappySilp 11-23-2016 12:20 PM

We should have more burgers. When I visited HK man Mcdonalds have so more options. Their breakfeast menus is good they even have fried rice! Also they get like limited edition burgers very few months.

carisear 11-23-2016 02:17 PM

^^ Agreed. autofail for dailyhive link, but thanks for any mcdonalds info :)

had the mcwings in Vietnam and they were bomb as fuck

OGCStrike 11-23-2016 05:03 PM

Just had one and it tasted pretty good.
Tbh the shape reminded me more of ruffles chips more so than an actual waffle...

Gerbs 11-23-2016 06:37 PM

Not much fries for $3 but pretty crunchy and tasty.

guurl 11-23-2016 07:56 PM

Can confirm crispyness

Only comes in one size. I also saw some new burger that came out as well forgot the name but it looks good!
