Remastered Big Mac for $3.00 August 13 to 19 at all McDonald's Restaurants across Canada.

Have no idea what a remastered Big Mac is, but for three bucks, I'm in. No coupons required, either. I guess a promo to get people to try it?

Just read in newspaper

https://business.financialpost.com/n...lds-new-method

McDonald’s makes tweaks to the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder in quest for a hotter, juicier product

The new bun recipe includes more moisture, which holds more heat, McDonald’s said in a briefing note on the buns. The top of the bun — the crown — will be reduced in height by three millimetres, “allowing deeper heat penetration.” Meantime, the bottom of the bun — the heel — will be increased by three millimetres, “thereby increasing the heat retention,” the briefing note reads.

didn't know 3mm makes a huge difference.

bcrdukes 08-08-2019 11:27 AM

McDonald's spends millions of dollars every year on R&D on their products. I would like to believe that based on their research, 3mm would be the optimal point in which they achieve their desired results with a tight tolerance for consistency.

If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again. Hopefully they get it right this time.

Having the remastered Big Mac as I type. Remember that ad from decades ago? “Where’s the Beef?” Except it’s now, “Where’s the fucking Bacon!!!!!”

It’s just as messy to eat as the original. A little juicier, yes, but that’s it.

bcrdukes 08-17-2019 03:00 PM

I don't mind the new Big Mac. The bun isn't as soggy as it used to come out, all floppy and whatnot. It's definitely a bit more filling.

BIC_BAWS 08-19-2019 02:26 PM

redesigned big mac:

It's alright. It's $3! Only until end of day today. It's finally a big mac again; not a tiny mac.

Euro7r 08-19-2019 08:41 PM

I had the Big Mac twice during the $3 deal. Prior to that, must have been over 10+ years since I had a Big Mac...

Hondaracer 08-20-2019 11:43 AM

Had a couple of the new big macs, unfortunately at full price, $13 for 2 pretty much

New bun is aight.. tastes like its engineered to be more like a brioche style but in turn makes it taste like its kind of stale..

It's like 75% the size of your typical Tim Hortons donut.

Only tried the apple fritter so far, decent tasting but even that was only half the size of the Tim Hortons version.

Richmond Ironwood location is doing 3.49 quarter pounders, as a combo for 5.99 until the end of the month. It's YMMV.

They're okay. I tried them earlier this year when down in Bellingham. Crunch is nice, taste is meh.

I can't wait for the disgusting McRib to come back. Everything about that sandwich is gross but somehow so delicious. I don't know why I have been craving it recently.

m4k4v4li 09-06-2019 02:27 PM

mcd so inconsistent depending on location

Gh0st 09-06-2019 02:30 PM

MG1 09-07-2019 05:52 AM
