A couple months ago some sales person came up to me and randomly asked if I would like to see their phones, I was waiting for my transaction to come through at Visions so I simply agreed. Then he gave me a brochure which seemed pretty outstanding, the plans were relatively cheap.
Anyways, I'm not a big fan of Bell/Telus, but the sales person told me that both companies will be converting to use of sim cards in November something, cant remember the date. But I've simply skimmed the Bell website and couldn't find anything and I havent heard anyone talk about it. I'm really unfamiliar with these networks and cell phone info in general can anyone speculate more on this?
Both now have SIM cards, though NOT every phone in their current lineup will have/support one! Some are still on their "older" CDMA networks, which do NOT use SIM cards. AFAIK both Telus and Bell will have a mixture of both SIM and non-SIM phones at their booths for the forseeable future.
Do your homework before blindly picking up a phone.
