new rogers activation plan

is this pretty much the best new activation plan i can get with rogers?

$50
200 daytime
9-7 e/w
500mb
2500 text
call display
-------
$60.xx after tax

im guessing i cant negotiate for a good plan when im a new activation (coming from fido). she said its non negotiable but who knows, might depend on who you talk to? anybody know?

THe only thing you can negotiate is the activation fee, sometimes they scratch the $30 off, but no way you can negotiate for a "better plan" when you're just transferring in from another company lol

Know of any family members with a Rogers plan right now? Try and renegotiate that one with retentions and then try and see if you can add on another line thats identical or suits ur needs. Then later branch off from the account. I've read on HoFo and RFD retention threads that this is doable.

i hope u already have an account at rogers or they have a temp account set up for u (documented). cuz i doubt u can get that above deal again. for a new activation, unless u get a 3rd party rep again.

edit: actually that's quite a weird plan, cause it should come at least network calling or unlimited txt or my5...

IMO, depends on what phone you are going to use and how you are going to use it.

If you do a lot of browsing on the go, check Bell's plan.

The best 1 imo is the 80 bucks plan for iphone. 2GB with tethering, nation-wide my5, visual voice mail, call display... etc all included.

Their 50/60 bucks plan isn't bad, but if you factor the call display and VVM in, the 80 one is so much better of a deal.

personally i hate voicemail so i prefer not to have it. lol

yeah i was hoping to pay closer to $50 for a voice/data plan but apparently those plans are only retention. i'll have to try again in a year or two.

i was lied to twice lol.
50+8(callid)+2.50(gov fee)+tax = 67.xx

but i got a pretty sweet deal with wireless wave.
for rogers, got:
$249 - bold 9700
-$35 activation fee waived
-$35 credit

and free upgrade to e/w starting at 6 instead of 9
