25/26k TAXES IN! not MSRP
so the OP can't even get a Corolla S with any package.
cars that we should be suggesting would be about 16-20K before taxes, freight, enviro fee, admin fee, etc.

so you can have
1. loaded fit/yaris/cube/forte/xB
or
2. mid-packaged civic/corolla/matrix/mazda3/rabbit/golf/lancer
top of the line for these cars will run you anywhere between 28-32k out the door

quick question: why a brand spanking new car?
ps. i bought a new car because i had no other choice, parents didn't want me to buy a used one. but 2 years after i got rid of it and bought a used car you save so much more money when buying used. | same deal for me
personally, I actually enjoyed driving my POS celica, it felt good being able to tell people that I bought and paid every penny that needed to be paid to drive the car
and plus if I dinged it here and there I wasn't in excruciating pain lol
but my parents got me to sell the celi and are paying for the next one
the strict rules are that it must be a brand new car with a warranty
otherwise I would have gotten my dream 04/05 wrx!!
as for the genesis and my budget, that's my fault, I looked on the website and forgot to check the taxes/levies button lol
you guys are right genesis is about 30gs but we looked out one today and my parents are okay with a 30g budget inclusive, not a penny more though
of course I'd rather have my parents save more money as opposed to less if possible
tips are great so far, keep em coming !
the genesis is really one heck of a car, even in the base model I gotta say..
just worries me to be driving a standard rwd in the snow in surrey where the gov doesn't care about many of the small roads lol
as for the ralliart, the mits dealer said they could try to get in an old model and sell it for cheaper and closer to my budget but I smell bs cuz like the other guy said it's a 10k difference

why must the car be brand new?
you can get a better car just for being used even if it has low miles.

The warranty I can fully understand, but know one thing: A car doesn't have to be an '09 or '10 to come with a warranty. Most cars newer than '05 or '06 should still have factory warranties, and even older models than that can be purchased with a warranty. I just bought an '03 Accord coupe with a Honda approved 2 year extended warranty from a Honda dealership. These warranties can range from one to five years.
Just something to think about.

Try to persuade your parents to let you buy another used car w/ some sort of extended warranty?

Impreza. I would just learn to deal with the plasticy interior, you get what you're paying for.

Some Asian families have a mentality of New cars are the best and used cars suck/unreliable. It's simple as that.

If you can get a genesis for that money i'd take it hands down.
seeing as how base model starts at about 27k before tax or financing, it will be hard to find.
before any discounts it's $26,949.60 with delivery
gst $1340.20
pst $1876.28
2.6% financing $2449.86
= about $32,600
you got quite a deal it sounded like.
otherwise i'd look at the forte which is more in your pric range

I would strongly suggest a 04/05 STi and tell your parents that these STi won't break down/turbo engine with no engine problem/4WD-good in snow/4 door-good for family/good on gas/hoodscoope-good for ventilation/HID headlights-good for nightvisions/ etc.
Try your best to talk them into your dream car man !

I found an 04 wrx in immaculate condition and in the colour I want with the type of rims that I want for a very good price
only 74xxx kms on it from original owner
it's funny cuz those are all the exact points that I tried to use on my parents
mom believed me but dad wasn't even phased lol
parents refused to even look at it because like the other guy said
it's an asian thing.
FML.
