I think some of you are failing to realize that tow trucks charge like $60 or more just because they can. Just to tow you a few meters up to the top of a hill. Instead of paying $60 to some random jerk, why not pay a whole lot less, AND be contributing to a charity instead? Win-win.

Good idea.. hopefully I don't need to use your services... I drive according to conditions, hardly ever speed, and already have my winter tires on.
But was this really necessary? Quote:

Hmm, if I get some tow straps, I should join in on this too. Put my diesel full size to good use, and win some good karma. 83 Z28, send me a PM. Im out in Langley, right on the hwy, so I could pretty much cover this end probably. If you want, we could figure something out with that?

I think you should make it minimum donation of $20, just to set a base. $20 is NOT rediculous at all, considering it would be MINIMUM $100 if not more from a tow company, probably closer to $150-200, and you would pay taxes on top of that as well. Also, a tow company will NEVER be dispatched to you immediately, on a snowy night, you are guarenteed to wait a few hours.

It also makes it easier for people who don't have a clue how much to offer.

I'm not going to set a minimum, simply because that goes against my original idea of donating what you can. But to give people an idea of my expectations, I will say that I expect the average donation to fall somewhere between $20 and $40. Lower offers may be negotiated, and higher offers will be expected for people farther away/seriously stuck. Also, I have decided to keep a blog for the whole operation once it's underway. It's free, and will provide a centralized online presence that everyone can access seeing as there might be people other than Revscene members calling me.

Then instead of setting a minimum, at least you should say suggested donation is $20 - $40. However I got a feeling you might want to prioritize on people without "asian" accents. Quote:

I think you should charge more.
For example last year at work, some dumbass dropped the keys to me and told me his car was stuck in a parking lot by metrotown. I work in Richmond by 3rd.
Called the tow-truck company on Dec 24th. Cost to tow that thing down to me $300+ (km, dollies etc etc..). Car was a Jeep Patriot 4wd. That being said.
Start at $50.. at least.
BTW. Im kinda interested, would like to pull out a few cars with my 1ton diesel.

Why would you need contact info when there is no snow? Its not happening obviously. There is no NEED for it.
