Hmm...I never got to feel/try any of the 2012 Shimano stuff. Like I said, if you want to meet up for her to try out Rival or the 2013 Sora setup, just gimme a shout.

I will admit though - Shimano shifting is hella smooth. (But I still prefer SRAM.)

Edit: I think OTG-ZR2's CAAD10x Ultegra setup retained the original hood/brake design. His is a 2012, IIRC. I don't know if 2013 Shimano changed across the line.

This is normal. Tighten it up. Happened on my Diamondback (FSA Energy cranks.) I think the same happened to GReddy's CAAD10-5 on FSA Gossamer cranks. This is why people call FSA Full Shit Ahead. I never liked their cranks. That or bring it in to PMS for a tuneup (but I know you prefer to do your own work.)

Happened on my SRAM S500 crankset as well but only ever had to tighten it once.

I'm happy with my Ultegra hood design, fits my hands quite well, or maybe I'm not that picky

Yeah I'm due for a tune up, I can get it close, but PMS can make my bike sing!

You should ask and see if they'll try and match, or even get closer to the online price, esp if you're a regular to the store and you've bought a bunch of stuff from them in the past. The worse they can say is no and kick your ass out the door

Several local MTB shops now offer to try and match online pricing where possible, or at least get it down to a minor difference where its always better to support the LBS and you also get their support in exchange. This is a service oriented business, and shops keep their lights on by charging for service and maintenance and don't lean on product markups nearly as heavily.

That extra $46.00, I could buy a Fizik clip in saddle Pak and new bar tape and STILL get some change back for coffee!

Gonna be busy for the next week or two. One of my uncles passed away and we're trying to make arrangements for a funeral with family and friends.

Edit: Received my 105 pedals today from Wiggle.

I've had a chance to ride most of the grouppos over the years. In the past year, I've gone from Dura-Ace 7800 to SRAM Red and most recently to Campy Record. I'd have to say that I'm actually like Campy the most in terms of action. Dura-ace is smoothest. SRAM REd was quickest and most precise. But campy seems to just have the right balance. I also picked up an Ultegra DI2 bike... now that is some fancy, smooth and precise stuff... never have to trim your front derailleur for any rear derailleur position!!!

Note that the groupos don't really go by model year. They go by model series that usually run for 3-5 years. So Shimano 105 current lineup is called 5700. Ultegra is 6700. Ultegra DI2 is 6770. dura-ace is 7900, about to be called 9000. So the easiest way to tell how "new" your parts are by looking at the model series number stamped on all of them.

For some reason, I do believe you are serious.

I found Campy to shift smooth, but the effort required to shift into a bigger cog left something to be desired. I personally prefer SRAM as the happy medium between Campy and Shimano.

Edit: I may change my mind when I throw on the Veloce setup onto the Cinelli.

New (to me) bike(s) day...

1992 GT Tequesta...another nostalgic throwback mountain bike complete with the splash paint.

2002 Rocky Mountain Hammer. Reynolds steel bike, but quite nimble! Ex-police bike in very good shape actually...but that is why it has the stupid rear rack and kick stand. Kick stands ftw, anybody?

Guess I should go throw some bar tape on my latest road bikes and snap some photos.
