First world problem of the day: My Campy Veloce brakes will not clear the fenders or rim on the Cinelli. Long reach brakes for the lose.
#Fail of the year amongst other things

They're both very similar. One notable difference is:
GT - I believe it uses the same frame as Cannondales (hydroformed aluminum) as GT is under the Dorel Industries umbrella, as is Cannondale. I may be wrong but it is likely the frame is built from the same factory where Cannondales are made.
Jamis - Uses a Kinesis frame. They're a well known frame manufacturer and a popular brand in Europe.
Both bikes have similar specs and from personal experience, Shimano 2300 sucks mega ass (I know because I have this groupset on my Cinelli.) Having said that, this totally depends on what you're looking to do with either bike (recreation / fitness & weight loss / endurance etc.)

Awesome thanks for the info!
I'm probably going to be biking a lot and will be doing almost everything you said. Going to use biking outside instead of doing cardio inside the gym during the summer. I'd probably say it's going to be more fitness/endurance and some recreational riding every now and then.
Hmm it looks like they both use Shimano 2300
In terms of the frames, would GT be better than the Jamis?
What do you think of: http://www.sportchek.ca/product/inde...767829.3758109 ?

Similar bikes, coming from a Jamis owner, I love the look of the GT frame. They are just sexier

What do you think of: GT Transeo 4.0 Satin Black 2013 - SportChek.ca ? | Don't get a hybrid if you're looking to do everything I mentioned. Well, you could, but you'll realize its limitations.
As for the Jamis vs GT - pick whichever one you think looks best. They're both pretty good and well made.

^ I think you'll be fine with the hybrid actually if you're looking for an all-rounder bike. Plus the benefit of a more relaxed position. Also, if you're doing some recreational riding, you might want a rear rack to carry along some items, and imo, definitely looks better on a hybrid than a road bike, if the road bike even has attachment points. Same with fenders.

First time visit to la bicyclette today.. Amazing store and service!
Found a great deal on a 2012 Focus Cayo Evo 3.0 - $1799 includes fitment and tuneup
I am worried that this hobby is starting to become an addiction.. Can see why us car guys move into biking now!

^ I bought that bike last september. Great bike, served me well so far. I've put well over 6000-7000 km's on it. Put it through hell (winter riding, rain rides, bad roads, etc).
I've already had to change the bb30 bearings once, i think they charged me for the parts but not labor when they did the tune up.
All in all good bike. You'll enjoy their service even more.
After the major tune up my bike felt brand new again. I paid $2k last sept.

Only ballers shop @ La Bicicletta.
Edit: Did you get the BB30 bearings swapped out under warranty?
