Same.

I usually plan my routes out as well and end up going to some place like a community centre or a coffee shop and ask if they're okay with watching my bike and/or bringing it in with me. If/when I commute and bring my lock with me, I'm never more than a few meters away from the bike anyway so it's visible 100% of the time.

604CEFIRO 05-29-2013 06:52 PM

^yup, no one cares if you bring your expensive bike into a large public urinal and put it beside u lol

if they ask, just be like "yo it's like 5g's bro cant leave that shit outside"

Hehe. its not like you're walking through a shopping mall. Most places you're probably stopping at are in public parks, so it's normal for spandex clad ppl clunking around looking goofy

I used to refer to the PDF maps from each city's website (i.e. City of Vancouver Bike Map - PDF file etc.) and a combination of Google Maps using the "bicycle" feature.

slowguy needs a bike. :hotbaby:

Edit:
City of Richmond
City of Burnaby - PDF Map
Turns out Translink already has a list of the cycling maps - http://www.translink.ca/en/Getting-A...ling-Maps.aspx

Hey everyone,

I was thinking of biking the Seawall/Stanley Park. Just curious, how long do you think it'll take to bike the whole thing casually?

Thanks!

bcrdukes 05-29-2013 08:32 PM

Last time I rode my hybrid around the Seawall/Stanley Park at a casual pace, I think it was about 30 - 45 mins total, starting at Coal Harbour.

kayceeee 05-29-2013 08:33 PM

^ depending on how busy, i would say around half hour?

kayceeee 05-29-2013 08:35 PM

for anyone looking for wheels.

Anyone recommend a good bike lock? Something under $100.

Kryptonite u-lock of some kind with their cable to lock your wheels. The evolution line that bcrdukes posted above is pretty good.

I barely ever piss too. I think I sweat it all out. haha

dat_steve 05-30-2013 11:50 AM

still need redemption for that ride. it's like getting caught with your pants down after a dip in cold water. "it's normally bigger than that i swear!"

kayceeee 05-30-2013 11:58 AM

im looking to get some tools to maintain my ride, mostly taking care of the drivetrain, chain/cassette and chain rings.

what kind do you guys use and where did you get them?

im thinking i'll need a chain cleaner, degreaser solution and some lube?

something like this.

Park Tool Chain Gang Chain Cleaning System - Cap's Westwood Cycle, pedaling good clean fun for 80 years

thanks
