There's a few of me... but $70 for photo's... lame!

kayceeee 09-08-2013 09:59 PM

yeah there's about thirty or so of me. But do I really wanna pay 70$ lol

The average age of riders of the fondo is 47, and 1 in 5 make over $200,000 a year, I think we are outside of the target audience for those $70 photos...

But I still might get a print ;)

i like one or two of them

bcrdukes 09-08-2013 10:02 PM

$200K

What are we doing wrong

604CEFIRO 09-08-2013 10:20 PM

Who saw the mariotchi band?

OTG-ZR2 09-08-2013 10:40 PM

^ saw them! and the lone drummer at the 4th? pitstop

604CEFIRO 09-09-2013 08:49 AM

Rumor has it that next years fondo may have a detour up cypress mountain then to whistler, the gran fondo will total 155kms

I am scared.

Oh man... that would be ridiculous.

Looking into it, the extended route is limited to 500 riders.

I'm going to commit to getting in on the fondo action next year. I haven't gotten a good ride in for the longest time. Went to Vegas recently so I spent a good amount of time in the gym instead of on the road..BOO!

604CEFIRO 09-09-2013 02:57 PM

Pretty good piece by Riaz Meghji of BT Vancouver of him telling his story about his journey through the fondo

Did Chris and Benz do the fondo this year?

dat_steve 09-09-2013 03:12 PM

Fizik Arione R3 saddle (new) - Pinkbike

good price if anyone's looking for a new saddle

I ride this myself, but the arione is notorious as being a hate it or love it ass hatchet. pretty cool that it's a carbon shell.
if one of you guys buys it and wants to trade for the same one but in white/black i'd be happy to trade :)

@bcrdukes - benz rode but i think chris was doing a massive hike that day. plus he did the ironman two weeks before :)

kayceeee 09-09-2013 03:22 PM

Yea Benz rode it. I think he did it in like 4 hours

Makes me feel better that there were water stops. I blew through 2.5 bottles on a 55k ride yesterday. Haha

im going to commit to the fondo next year...but getting myself a pinarello dogma 65.1 :troll:

but no. i think i will start training a lot harder and a lot earlier. like previously said i think by 604cef, anyone who is in half decent shape can do it, much like me, its doable, but to get a good time, lots of training needs to be put in, now that i've done it once, i know its no simple ride, so hopefully next year i can post a much better time.

PHATFLIP_14 09-09-2013 07:57 PM

Again, congrats to all the RS riders here who did the Fondo.

This is definitely, one of my "bucket list" in terms of cycling. I am also committing myself of doing this next year.

Kudos, again to all of you guys :).

you know that u can do it if i can do it

hud 91gt 09-10-2013 02:02 PM

Probably the hardest ride i've done to date. Kits to Wycliff, then up Cypress. Planned to eat lunch up there but forgot my wallet. Almost died going up. I have some serious work to do. With Haleakala a mere 30 day's away, i've got to start killing that mountain, over and over. haha. I did this ride a couple months back, but for some reason this was waaay harder. haha

On the plus side, Found a Land Rover Defender for sale, and spotted what could be a lost cat. Ha

dat_steve 09-10-2013 03:05 PM

I'm going to be in Maui in November for a wedding, Haleakala is on the to do list for me too. let us know how it goes haha

UFO 09-10-2013 06:29 PM

haha, Haleakala was a beast of a DRIVE up. At no point did I feel inclined to ride it up, lol. I'd be down to get shuttled up and rip down though

PHATFLIP_14 09-11-2013 12:20 AM

anyone here have a wheelset that they are willing to let go for friendly, RS price? :hotbaby:

just picked up a steel frame bike as a daily driver. thinking to swap out the wheels.

pm please.

thanks.
