haha, I'll try that line on all the hawt female atheletes... |
Anyone have experience with 3T carbon handlebars? I've read that because of the flare on some of the bars, the C-C measurement at the bar ends differ from the measurement at the hoods? If I have a 42cm bar right now that is a perfect fit, would going to a 42cm 3T carbon bar change my hand positioning too much? I don't wanna ruin my bike fit because i wanted a carbon handlebar |
I haven't used a 3T carbon bar but I am using a 3T aluminum bar. I believe they measure the bars from centre of the bar ends, not at the hoods. I think what you'll have to look at is the drop angles etc. I'm using the Ergosum Pro which I prefer over the Ergonova. Two very different bars altogether. |
Which 3T bar? They list the flare on a couple: ergonova - "The drops flare by 6°, so the width at the brake hoods is 16 mm narrower than the bar size" tornova - "Tornova bar width is specified center-to-center at hoods. Drops flare by 2° and are approx 1 cm wider at bar end" |
Yea that's what I read about the ErgoNova. It's 42 cm C-C at the bar end. But up at the hoods it's narrower by 16mm I'm wondering how big of an effect to fitment that would be Posted via RS Mobile |

Time to get rid of another frame, anyone here interested first? Will be posted in eBay soon. It's a 59cm Guru Magis tri/TT frame/fork, full carbon. I believe it's from 2007/2008. Either way, it's NOS, never been built up. Unfortunately a couple of superficial scratches from sitting around. Looks like this, except mine is all blue: http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psb9dd9ade.jpg Currently, there's a 2010 in eBay (Looks exactly the same) selling for $900. Let me know! |
Anyone have any tips to help with numbness in the hands? I seem to get numb really fast even with good gloves that have gel padding, etc. The vibrations just make my hand have pins and needles when biking relatively long distances steadily. Carbon bars? Posture? What can I do to make it improve? I wear Specialized BG Gel gloves and try to switch hand positions every 5-10 minutes but sometimes I forget and then the hands get numb when I am on the hoods a lot. |
Obviously, the latest in Italian designer wear for cycling and the highest grade of carbon fibre handle bars, frames, and wheels. |
get ur fit dialed in. if u have lightweight bar tape (thin tape w/ no padding), then get yourself something cushy'er... My hands still go numb, but usually after 3.5hrs+ straight in the saddle |

I suggest thicker bar tape, such as Lizard Skins DSP. Costs a bit more than the average bar tape, but feels very nice. Other than gloves, try to change hand positions more often. Good luck! |
Sounds like you're cutting off/poor circulation to your hands... maybe gripping bars too tightly? |
I ended up tilting mine down more. But it's trial and error for sure. I had a lot of pressure on the meaty part of my hand (Opposite my thumb). |
Where do you guys full your water bottles on Cypress? Last time I went in the restaurant but there must be somewhere better then that? Posted via RS Mobile |

Last time I was at cypress, the restaurant (something crow), had a cooler set up with ice water and cups for people to fill there bottles from. It was wet and cold, I couldn't ask for more. |
^ it had lemon slices too sometimes. I guess they were feeling frisky when I went. |
