YOLO wheel set... lol I know nothing about carbon wheels except, baller!! |
I'd go for it! My buddy bought a set of Chinese Carbon wheels and despite some issues with spokes breaking he loves them (the company he bought them from refunded him money to get the wheel rebuilt locally). For the price I don't think you can go wrong. Posted via RS Mobile |

Merry Christmas!! Got some cool (warm) leg warmers and a wrist band to mount my Edge500 for runs! Score!! |
Well, that was quite a dramatic ride today. Went out for a ride earlier around Yaletown and False Creek. Just as I get to Granville Island, two guys passed me. They took a pretty casual pace after passing me so I asked if I could pass. They weren't listening or didn't want to let me pass, whatever and were taking up the whole lane and were all over the place. I shouted, "Passing to your right, guys!" and one of them says to me, "You can't pass on the right." Okay, whatever. It was the safest considering they were all over the road. Eventually they give in and let me pass on the stretch Charleson & Moberly Road. If you're familiar with that road, there's a stop sign before you approach the T-intersection. Well, I stopped but these guys decided not to and just went at the cranks full speed ahead, only to slam into a Jeep Sahara around the corner (a complete blind spot.) They got pretty fucked up and let's just say the road rash wasn't pretty. I called 911 and the police and ambulance came. I think the one guy may have dislocated his left arm and the other guy was just a bloody wreck. Take what you will with this, but for me, I stop at all stop signs and leave the ego at home. Good lord. Fuck these idiots. |
KOM fail... |
how were their bikes? :P |
^sucky... Hope they're okay. However, I still think you should pass on the left, and if it wasn't safe to do so at that moment in time, just ride along until it is safe to do so for all riders, it's not a race! Guess they learned their lesson for not stopping at the stop sign though! On a different note, anyone need a pair of Continental Grand Prix 4000 S tires, 700c x 23 ? Let me know. |

Pics would rule! Posted via RS Mobile |
No pix, sorry. Wasn't really the right time/place to be doing that and I felt that it wasn't appropriate as these guys got messed up bad. Thinking back on it, yeah, I should have. |
i would have lol'd pretty damn hard if you had pics. not because the dudes ate pavement but because the idea of you taking a pic would be funny. |
haha rub more salt into the wounds, eh? :hotbaby: |

Besides the Iona Jetty and the Terra Nova/Steveston stretch, were there any other gravel roads you encountered? Or was it just paved road? |
I got about $400 to put towards my car this Xmas. I really want to get a new exhaust, or maybe some suspension. But I think I'm going to NOT void my warranty, and buy a bike rack. I'm thinking the sea suckers mini bomber kit Posted via RS Mobile |
