Yes. I have a 3T ARX Pro, and before that an Easton EC30 stem - the only reason I got the 3T stem was to match up to my 3T Ergonova handlebars. The weight difference was all of 50g... negligible.

Cool. Ya I figured I'm not at the level where it'll make (or I'll notice) a big difference. I guess I'll just choose the one that looks best...

Thanks!

Running the 3T team stem and alloy bar. Plenty stiff!

I heard the Thomson x2 and x4 is face place prone to cracking

Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately, I'm looking for a 100 or 110 length.

I did vaguely remember seeing that...but couldn't find further details on those issues.

^ also, if you're inclined for Thomson, avoid the x2 the mounting isn't the best with 2 bolt apparently.

There was quite a few 3T stems couple weeks back. There's only one left. $80 is a bit steep tho... They go as cheap as 50$ local CL

Not mine and no relation.

Hah the X2 was the one I was looking at, and my first choice because I like the way it looks.

However you're right, it was also the one I saw with some problems. I figured at 145lbs I'm not going to be putting too much stress on my components!

Thanks for the heads up on the 3T stems, I did see that team stem already but thought it was kind of pricey. Maybe i'll just hold out to see if anything else shows up.

From a weight weenie point of view, 50g weight savings is pretty significant when your average stem weighs about 150-200g. 25%+ weight savings!

I already asked that seller if he'd take $60, he said $80 firm as advertised

$80 is basically full retail, no ship, tax and duty. Not over priced but not a smashing deal either

Hahaha definitely not a deal. Rather other one from crc.

At $60 it took the other stem a couple weeks to be sold. Wonder why his ad has been a month+. Each their own I guess.

I'm running a Thomson X2 on one of my bikes (to match my Thomson seat post) and haven't had any problems with it. I weigh more than you as well.
It is a pretty cool looking stem made out of one solid piece of aluminum. Got it off CRC.

Trashed my 39T chainring in the process too... When I asked about replacement chainring, they quoted $110!!!!

But found a used one on ebay for $50.
That's rough dude, Glad it's repairable.

Lol awesome marketing by castelli on their gabba jersey. They have a pro edition where it comes in a box with a black felt marker lol

Wiggle | Castelli Gabba Pro Windstopper Jersey Limited Edition | Short Sleeve Cycling Jerseys

Lots of pro teams not sponsored by castelli wear the gabba but black out the logos

Thanks! Although not exactly cheap, cyclestore.co.uk has new 110 and 120mm stems for $80 cdn with free shipping. That's $20 cheaper than anywhere else I looked.

Did anyone else catch the presumably accidental reveal of the new Shimano 105 5800 details by Bikeradar.com? It looks like both the articles were taken down now, but they announced new hydraulic disc + mechanical 11 speed brifters. Super stoked, I see those in my future hopefully this year.

I got my Retul bikefit done at bici today. At the same time i swapped out handlebars for a larger size.

So they take my old ones off, and hand it to me. I inspect the bottom of the bar, and low n behold, a MASSIVE crack under the bar, at the bend closest to the top of the bar... i could physically push and pull them apart

I'm so glad i changed them out!

^ good thing you caught it in time. Any details? Was the bike crashed before?
Aluminum or carbon bars? Cracked where the bend is, or where the stem meets the bar?

3t ergonova carbon bar, that was cracked at the bend before the right shifter.

Bike wasn't crashed before, or at least I couldn't tell
