Warmer weather is coming up! But for two summer seasons, my white jerseys have been stained pretty badly, and I think it may be the sunscreen I'm using. Maybe it's bc I wipe my face on my shoulder/sleeves, or just sweat it out onto the sleeves, but the sleeves and shoulders are going yellow.

But what are you guys using for sunscreen? Any particular brand u guys recommend?

Jealous, trying to get my gf to ride more is like pulling teeth sometimes.

On another note. Awesome weather forecasted for this week = first time the fenders have come off my new ride :woot2:

dat_steve 04-09-2014 12:52 PM

first night ride of the season last night. i have to say doing spin class during the off season really helped! felt like i hit a PR on the cambie climb coming home but I forgot to charge the garmin so no way to confirm (buddy said we were averaging 23-24km/h)

at least you guys have SO's that ride lol

OTG-ZR2 04-11-2014 11:56 AM

Whens everyone taking their fenders off?

I was tempted last week but since I commute, I thought better of it. Good thing because it poured a day later.

Planning on riding this Sunday. See what my Prospect times have dropped to :o

heleu 04-11-2014 12:17 PM

I HATED mounting my fenders - I think it took me 4 hours to completely eliminate rubbing.

I just have two old road bikes, one with, and one without fenders. lol.

OTG-ZR2 04-11-2014 12:35 PM

2 of my 3 bikes have fenders lol.

Going to leave them on my cruiser because I think it adds style.

My cross bike on the other hand.... CAN'T WAIT TO RIP THEM OFF!! Being protected from road grime far outweighs the fugly-kludgy fenders.

604CEFIRO 04-11-2014 03:29 PM

Commuter bike / winter bike / rain bike (kona jake) - always has fenders

Cervelo - no fenders, but i have an Ass Saver temp fender tucked under the seat and will extend it if i need it.

dton13 04-11-2014 03:36 PM

Looks like I was a little pre-emptive in taking them off as the forecast is calling for rain next week. Oh well, I ended up PR-ing all my normal strava segments with them off haha.

Pic: took some nicer pictures to whore out my ride for the paris-roubaix this weekend lol

Hey, the Paris-Roubaix is one of the hardest, most grueling one-day races of the year. Its defining feature is its cobblestone roads which has lead manufacturers to producing bikes almost specifically for this race (basically more compliant/shock-absorbing bikes). Maybe one day I'll get to ride the same course!

This was a good article I read recently on some of the modifications teams will make for this race: Bike modifications for Paris-Roubaix | CyclingTips

604CEFIRO 04-11-2014 08:06 PM

Roubaix is one of the five monuments of cycling spring classic races. One day race on cobbles. It ends in roubaix velodrome.
