i would be way more pissed than that if i m him because others mistake cost my bike's damage and put my life on risk

btw who would be responsible of the damage of the bikes?

I don't know, not like the guy in white cut him off or ran into him on purpose, shit happens when you're putting that much power down, mechanical failures, any number of things. I wonder why they sprint so close to each other side by side, there wasn't really anybody else boxing them in once they broke away from the main group. But then again I'm no racer.

Looking at it slo-mo, dark jersey's helmet saved his life. You could see his head smash into the pavement and what looks like a chunk of his helmet fly off. Guy in white lands square on his shoulder, at that speed and impact no doubt some serious damage. And copious road rash to all involved guaranteed.

I think you're responsible for your own ride regardless of the situation. There's no one assessing fault to cover damages

so insurance is not included in the $120 fee for this high risk sport:heckno:

azncreationz 05-15-2014 11:44 AM

Ouch!
Yeah, like any other event, all participants have to sign waivers and assume the risks involved. They all have to have their BC Cycling licences as well, which provides some insurance.
But thanks for posting this, as this happens right in front of my office building. I'm going to go out there right now and look for bike parts...or blood on the street.

604CEFIRO 05-15-2014 02:32 PM

Apparently the week before there was a huge crash in Cat D races or something.

No video, but just finish line photos. You can see one guy leaning into another guy super hard at the line.

They went into the curb, and from what I read one of the guys went into a lamp post. Broken femur, shoulder, bikes etc

I think the insurance is to cover personal injuries, lost wages due to injuries, etc etc. Fairly similar sort of coverage to other sports leagues I would imagine.

Can't wait til hackers can hack into wireless shifting, lol.

On a more serious note, I can see live with plugging in di2 central battery pack once in a while. But having to charge the rear mech, front mech, and shifter batteries independently seems arduous. All for the convenience of not having to run electronic cables during first time setup. Cool and a bit gimmicky, but I'm not entirely sold

Pro Team Jacket | Rapha

Rapha pro team jacket on sale for $215.00

15% off coupon code: LCTOC012014

Score the jacket for $204 tax in.

Retarded deal. Best jacket I own in terms of a fall, winter, spring training jacket for temp range of 2* to 13* degree weather. I've worn it down to -4* with a race cape on top.

If it's anything like amateur car racing that would be the case. I know when my dad used to race the Arca series he had someone do something really stupid and run him into the wall, caused thousands in damages and he never got so much as a sorry.

I'd expect cycling to be the similar.

I don't think I saw the size of the frame. Would totally buy if I had extra cash and if it was 54cm

Got super muddy yesterday, riding trails in the rain. Slick as snot but kind of fun. Had mud in places I'd rather not have mud...

aalex, frame size? That's a damn nice bike...
