Do you join a lot of the bc rando events? I couldn't do the Canada one but I was thinking about joining the 200k on the 12th.
I try to cause not as expensive as the GrandFondos. LOL. Gotta check first though with the wife and kids schedule. If nothings happening then i'll probably do that as well. I missed out on the last "early bird" 200km ride.
Haha. I've really been meaning to start joining some events, but finding time is hard (this is w/o a wife and kids lol). I also missed the last 200, so I'm really trying to make the next one.
This was my Monday - first time at Whistler, got a friend who lives there to show us around. It was awesome! (Note, I did not actually do the trail that this picture was taken on - otherwise I would be posting this from the hospital ).

I was up there with my son that day. He's 10 and was riding a little shredder (full suspension) and I was on my Knolly. Such a good day up there. Until he ate shit off the big tabletop jump after the step up on crank it up. It was back to b line after that. Honestly, if I crashed as hard as he did, I'd be elbow deep in rum at the glc. Good thing he's young. And also decked out in body armor.
Anyway, hope you had fun up there. It's such an awesome place to ride.
Bought the wife's bike about a month ago from them and they were great!
Then the guys at the shop and Dukes helped out my wife buy a bike for me as a surprise gift just a couple weeks ago.
Haha, I've been made! Long time lurker, and thanks for introducing us to PMS. Met Ian and John and both were super nice as you mentioned. Just need to get some lighter skewers and a new cassette.
Oh snap! You are one hell of a lurker! Nice wheels man! Heard you got a pretty sweet deal on these!
Which bike are these puppies going on? I had looked into the H Plus Son wheels before going with a custom HED Belgium C2+.

How are the prices there in terms of saddles? It looks like this Selle Italia one I have just isn't working out too well for me.
Selle Italia can range all over the place. The moment you see titanium and carbon, the prices fly. I would suggest getting a fit first (from wherever) and see what the fitter recommends. Every saddle and brand will be suitable for different body types.

I went to the Gastown GP, it was a pretty good turnout. A couple crashes, and an awesome sprint for the mens.

I have a Cannondale Caad8 only right now, looking to upgrade next season.

Yeah, I love the R45's. I love the hub sound of the Chris King's.

The annodized brake surface is sexy until it wears down I got some swiss stop bxp pads to prolong the surface. Hopefully it'll last a little longer.
I dont know if anyone went to tonight's Gastown GrandPrix. But here is one lucky woman for the situation she was in. I don't know if the link will show, i just grabbed it off FB.
Bcrdukes: How much did your HED Belgium C2+ wheelset go for? Did you lace them locally?
I actually bought the HED Belgium C2+ from Glory Cycles in North Carolina (Glory Cycles) Clyde is the master wheel builder there and that's pretty much all he does - build wheels. I gave him my specs (weight, style of riding, how reliable and maintenance free I wanted them) and he built them. I wasn't too concerned about weight so I got a few more spokes than usual, laced up to the Shimano Ultegra 6800 hubs. I originally wanted the DT Swiss 240 or Chris King R45 hubs, but felt they were overkill and over priced for what I want them for.
I love the HED wheels and would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfy, yet solid wheel set. I believe they are on sale right now on Glory Cycles. When I got them, the C2+ was practically brand new. I think I paid something like $750 or so. I would e-mail them to discuss your options first before pulling the trigger on anything, even if you don't buy from them. They're really awesome that way.
