Anybody have a set or a pair of Avid Shorty 6 or Shorty 4's canti brakes that they no longer need? Doesn't matter if pads are included or not. I'm looking for a set or pair, trade you something, or will pay cash if price is right. TIA!

dat_steve 03-31-2015 12:17 PM

if anyone has a spare/unwanted set of FSA wing compact bars (42cm) let me know!

acrophobia 03-31-2015 05:50 PM

This looks pretty slick...I'd be a buyer for nighttime riding and running during the winter.

A spoke snapped on my road bike in Stanley the other day. Any comments on replacement? The wheels aren't expensive, but i've been looking for an excuse to buy a Chinese Carbon set for a while, but the measly 100-150km i've put on this year doesn't seem worth while.

Anyone snap a spoke before, rebuild the wheel or just put in a new spoke and true it up?

Orrrr.... Any suggestions for budget wheelsets, or used ones? Looking for light, cheap and strong.... hahaha..... Ok i'll take two of those.

I'm about 185-190lbs, and i'm not very nice to my wheels either. Sometimes I like to think i'm on a mountain bike still.

I snapped a spoke before. Some dumb ass went head on into my lane on those two way bike paths causing me to swirve and nail the curb.

Anyways you can get a replacement spoke and have it trued at a shop or if you have the tools it takes like 10 min. Shop quoted me 30 bucks so I went to my buddy and he helped me for the price of a beer.

Chinese carbon wheels = spokes comin out. speaking from experience. haha. make sure to get it checked that "lock tight glue" is applied to the spoke nipples. other than that, china carbon wheels seems to be good.

Front or rear wheel? Like everyone else said, put in a new spoke and get it trued & tensioned. If it's a front wheel, you can come over and borrow one from me while you get yours sorted, if you wish. (Just don't break mine as well, ha!)

Thanks for the offer. It's a rear wheel. Bringing it in to a shop tomorrow.

What would you like for them?

henry604 04-13-2015 03:45 PM

Anybody have a Rapha discount code?

604CEFIRO 04-13-2015 05:13 PM

There are no existing ways to get discount codes unless Rapha comes out with their bi-annual survey which u will get a 10-15% off code after u complete it.

Previously, you were able to "refer a friend" and just refer your own email address and that would produce a 10% off code. That has since been shut down since beginning of 2014.

If you want 10% off, you can shop at La Bicicletta on broadway and show them your Cycling BC license and they will give you 10% off anything in store.... only if you have a CBC license.

henry604 04-13-2015 05:59 PM

Thanks for the tip 604cefiro... I was looking to buy a bundle from rapha.. oh well..

604CEFIRO 04-15-2015 10:11 AM

If you ask La Bici to give you a bundle price that matches Rapha.cc , they might do it. I remember last winter and and summer they were offering bundle prices on certain items.

Now, if you wanted Bundle pricing + 10% off, they for sure won't do it.

hud 91gt 04-15-2015 11:20 AM

My buddy thinks he found his stolen mountain bike (Nothing fancy) from a couple months ago on Craigslist today. He doesn't have the serial so he can't be for certain it is his but he's pretty damn sure.

Suggestions?

RS beat Down crew? haha

320icar 04-15-2015 11:24 AM

If he has beyond a reasonable doubt, call the Non emergency police line

hud 91gt 04-15-2015 11:43 AM

I think that is his main issue. How can you be completely sure. Says they mix matched the tires, and there is a different seat on it now.

distanc3 04-16-2015 08:07 PM

Anyone have used road bike for someone who is 5'3?

!Nhan 04-17-2015 12:50 AM
