What pump are you using? I've had no troubles in three years with the Beto floor pump from MEC. |
I have the Beto II. I bought it earlier this year in February. |

hud 91 - $100 for carbon soles that's crazy! i just mounted cleats on my new mavic avenirs (sp?) testing them out on the commute tomorrow. @dukes - maybe you should consider tubeless wheels with your luck :P |

Anyone sad that sunny riding season is spretty much 1/2 over? :P |
I'm actually pretty sad that the season is almost over. dat_steve: I think I'll just get the tubes locally. I'm not saving all that much ordering online. I also picked up another pump for comparison sake - my Beto II is a POS. hud_91gt: Where'd you get your shoes? And what do you think of the fit profile? I hear they're good for wider feet? (or was that Shimano?) |

They aren't a full carbon sole, it's a carbon/fiberglass mixture. They fit really well for me and I consider myself to have a pretty average foot. Although you basically need to order a 1/2-Full size larger then your regular shoe. |

We have at least another 8-10 weeks of sun, especially if we get an indian summer. Er, I mean a native Canadian aboriginal summer. :fullofwin: |

Looking to get a bike to run around trails and parks.... what price range do RS recommend. I look at some used use and man bikes are pretty costly decent looking ones is from $300 and up -_-. |
^You should try riding bikes in the bike lanes and paths too. They are pretty good ;) Your bike all depends on how much and how nice of a bike you want. A single wheel for a bike can easily cost well over $300 fyi |

[QUOTE=bcrdukes;7979336]I'm actually pretty sad that the season is almost over.[QUOTE] What are you guys talking about?! Slap some fenders on one of your bikes and ride year round!!! Maybe that's why I have a beater bike..:) You know what they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad preparation and gear. |

nothing major - get lower in the drops and for aesthetics. there's a slight rise in my headtube that i'm not a fan of.. I like a more aggressive geometry like the Caad's. |
^ I don't really understand what that thing does? I sure hope it's not some sort of cover for the headset, as I just put my stem right on top of the headset (Like I would have with my Mtn Bike) and put all the spacers on top (Steer tube is too long) for a more aggressive position???? Or is it a more slim cover so it can go that much lower? I've noticed my top headset cup is quite tall? What's it dooo???? |
lower stem = moar aero! Your headset already has a cover/topcap. Some bikes come with a tall tapered shape topcap which limits how low you can put the stem since the tall topcap is equivalent to ~20-30mm of spacers http://app.infopia.com/img/image/fp/vpid/9542628 |

There is talk that mounting the stem too close to the top bearing is not so good as it may cause a stress riser which can lead to steertube failure. I'm no engineer so I can't see it, but a steertube failure is not a good one to have. I'd probably leave 5mm of spacers under the stem just to be on the safe side. |
