Nice! Where'd you get it at?
FYI for those of you looking for a road bike, John Henry Bikes in North Van has 3 small Ridley Icarus bikes for sale @ $1099 each. SRAM Apex gruppo. Not a bad price IMO.

Got it from cove bikes. I went by different bikes and also bicycle sports pacific in n'van. No one had sizes for me. I'm 5'7" and the kona's fit bigger.
Cove had a 49 in Jake and also Jake the snake
They let me ride both and the snake felt better shifting. I guess the 105 definitely makes a difference.

Man, i had a bit of buyers remorse afterwards... but i just took the bike around the block for a while and it definitely changed my mind haha.
it's so different compared to riding a POS mountain bike from canadian tire...
I decided ~ a month ago to start riding a bike to work. My commute in richmond is only about 10-12 km's each way. I take the Shell Trail from Francis to Westminster and go towards the automall area. On my canadiantire mountain bike, I would actually have to try really hard to go fast. By the time I'm at work I'm completely drenched in sweat. Mind you, I'm wearing a backpack!
Now with a rack and pannier bags, so different. So awesome. No back sweat lol.
Next purchase will have to be some shoes to clip into my pedals.
Any websites you guys recommend with nice discounts??

Any websites you guys recommend with nice discounts?? | Wait until you switch over to road slicks. It'll definitely change your mind!
I normally frequent the following sites:
Nashbar.com (They do not ship to Blaine or Point Roberts - not in my experience anyway)
RealCyclist.com / Chainlove.com / DepartmentOfGoods.com (All owned by the same company but have different offerings sometimes)
JensonUSA.com
ChainReactionCycles.com
PricePoint.com
And interestingly enough - Amazon.com - Good deals can be had with Amazon
I'm probably missing a few other sites but these are the ones I go to regularly.

Don't forget CompetitiveCyclist ! they're pretty much the same in pricing most of the year but their season-end/start closeouts are always great.
@GREddie - Chris is a beast on a different level. Probably didn't break a sweat the whole way lol i want to do another run up grouse next weekend and go harder - you (guys) should come with! the ride down grouse and through stanley park after is SO fun. it would be nice to put some faces to names

I've had to check all the associate sites because their deals are always different. Quote:

Well, ok, I actually did get another bike (frame), but this one is definately for sale, any takers?? It's like 63cm! Yes, it's BIG. It's a NOS basically, never been built-up Rocky Mountain Turbo (Team Only), made of Scandium, built in Richmond BC Canada, roughly circa 2000? |

holy SRAM batman. my next bike would have to have sram red purely for the sexiness of it. dat chainring! (or maybe i'll upgrade groupsets....if i win the lottery)
Greddie - no seriously i'm no pro like Chris! i've been training on climbing for while so i have a good pain tolerance but i am by no means fast lol are you working at the firm with Chris?? Have we met before?
@bcr - if my buddy wearing basketball shorts and chucks could ride with us, anyone can
looks like it's going to be Sunday morning ride! who's in |

The JtS was $1400 down from $1600 msrp.
The rack, fenders, and the pair of pannier bags was $145 all together
I intended on spending only $1000 initially, the Jake cost $1050.
But after taking a ride on both around the block, JtS felt better so I went with that
I don't think it's too overkill. The bike gives me options.. Allows me to travel in the areas I need to to and not just stick to main roads in richmond

I'm not sure what size you are, but I am 5 foot 7. Not sure my inseam.
I bought a 49cm JtS. All the bike stores i went to said JtS/Jakes fit larger than most.
I rode my friends 53cm Jake, and also test rode the 49's. I felt better on a 49cm, fit me perfect.
I know Cove Bikes has a 49cm 2012 Jake, they're asking $1050.
They also have a 56cm 2012 JtS, they're asking $1450.
North Van Different Bikes just got in the new line of 2013 Jakes and JtS', in the full range of sizes. But pricing is a bit higher, i think $1300/$1700 respectively.

Yeah I am only 5 foot 3. So that 49cm might still be to big. I guess i will have to go check them out.
