For the Rapha nuthuggers (not too many on here i don't think?) they've dropped prices on their sale items for the zillionth time. Trade Team (Pro Team alt) Jersey $65, Super lightweight $95, lightweight bibs $155, lots of ridiculous deals.
A good time to hop on the bandwagon of quality if you've never experienced the nuthuggery of Rapha
Anyone here want a larger single-speed bike? From what I recall, 58cm. Black IRO frame, Campy Euros wheels w/quick release skewers, bullhorn bars with front Tiagra brake, Easton EA30 stem, RaceFace chainring. Very slight dent on top tube unfortunately. Front tire is a Conti 700x23, rear is 700x28. Flat mtn bike pedals with velcro straps to retain your foot. All black so very stealth. Used condition, so don't expect mint! The price for a new wheelset alone right now is $900 on CRC. So, let's say $260 for the entire bike. Will post photo if anyone's interested.
so the alibaba 'jaw breakers' are in. haven't had a chance to get out with them yet but here are the first impressions:
frame quality: thin, creaky plastic. the nose piece is pretty hard and it may get uncomfortable on longer rides.
lens quality: came with yellow, black, and a 'fire iridium'-esque lense. i found the optics on the iridium are weird, everything looks tinted blue-ish. The fire iridiums on my Split Jackets didn't have any 'tinting' at all.
overall looks: pretty awesome actually. looks just like a genuine pair. the arms are even size adjustable for your temples.
bottom line is that you get the utility you pay for, but you get more than $30 worth of style points!
can't decide if i wana keep them as they're a bit wide on my face lol
Anyone know of any good deal on wheelsets? Last time I asked I went and got my wheel all trued up. It lasted about 300km before all the spokes are falling out again. Either a rebuild, or maybe these??? Work called for some overtime while I was pulled over on the side of the road tightening all my spokes to get me home. Convenient. haha. What I really want is a pair of chinese carbon. I don't ride in anything other then perfect weather so I shouldn't be scared of the wet weather braking. haha
Keep in mind i'm about 185-190lbs and like to jump off curbs. haha
If you're jumping on and off curbs, then IMO, you should be looking at a more robust set of wheels with more spokes, none of this lightweight 12 spoke wheel. I have a set of old Shimano RS10 and have used them for at least 4 years now, in wet weather & off a few curbs as well, and they have stayed true. I've also had luck with my Mavic Askiums on my CX bike. Good luck on your search.
After some searching, I may buy some rims and hubs separately.
Kinlin XC279 Rims, and some circus monkey hubs seem to get some good reviews. Should be less then $500 with the build locally. With enough spokes, it should be a tough wheelset, and pretty light too.
Shimano 105 10-speed Partial Groupset
Left and Right shifters
Front and rear derailleurs
Front and rear brakes (Tektro)
10-speed cassette
Chain
Condition - 9.5/10 like new
Mileage - Less than 300km if even?
No crankset
Asking price - $250 or best offer? (not sure what's fair)
SRAM Rival 10-speed Partial Groupset
Left and right shifters
Front and rear derailleurs
Front and rear brake calipers (SRAM non-series, probably Apex?)
10-speed cassette
Chain
Crankset - SRAM S500 BB30 (if you even want it? Probably better getting something else.)
Condition - 9/10
Mileage - 2000km if even?
Price - $300 or best offer?
Shimano Ultegra 6700 Brake calipers
Front and rear - like new. $100?
I don't know what going prices are for 10-speed groupsets but my asking prices are for RS folks only and open to a reasonable offer. I will not list them anywhere else because Craigslist is full of hipster scum. Good parts, well maintained ready for your dream build, winter bike, throw it at hipsters, or to replace what's broken.
Not by me, but by Pacific Multisport because I overheard, but I think they have a SRAM 11-speed groupset for sale but I don't know how much. Just spreading the word and if you go there, tell them bcrdukes sent you!

[edit] ... LOL... So i bought a buttload of stuff last week and took delivery of the items yesterday. I just re-purchased the same exact order, so that I can refund the 1st one and get back the 10% difference. Damn asian mindset.
