New GT Vantara Comp Hybrid Bike from what I read GT bikes are pretty good. No carbon parts though....

GT Bikes are owned by Cannondale, or at least a subsidiary of Dorel.

Mistake 1) riding at 2 PM was a killer, SUPER hot going up Cypress.
2) My Strava + music was draining my battery. I had 89% starting and I was almost at 40%. I only used GPS between Seymour to Grouse and part of it to Cypress
3) I was 3/4 way up Cypress and I hit a wall; had to eat 2 granola bar, but just physically drained; wasn't hungry but was full of water. and i was running low on water; it was that hot.

Bought myself a bottle of coke at Cypress, best coke everrrr. I wanted to call for help at 3/4 mark up Cypress cause I didn't know if I could ride all the way back to Seymour, but I rested at Cypress and cruised back to my car.

Moving time was 7:33:52, took me about 8.5 hrs, I stopped at Cypress for 1/2 hr and pee breaks on each mountain just to give you a rough estimate.

Congrats on the ride man! How many total m/ft of elevation was the whole ride? Also, can you share your activity as well? I'm planning my triple crown route to do later in the summer.

604CEFIRO- didn't you do the 4 peaks earlier this June? I might have missed the post but how was your experience doing that extra peak?

Yea man... I did it this year, starting and ending in Steveston so a total of 192km.

It was tougher than last year, due to the heat. A LOT of people did not finish the last climb up Cypress. There were people who abandoned due to heat stroke, puking etc. It was gruelling but epically fun.

I would say start with triple crown, and then try 4 peaks.

Bad luck, friend got a flat during today's 150k. I doubled back 7km and he was cramping like crazy after stopping to change his tube. Also over shot 84th avenue and went down to 78th and had to go back. Ffffuuuuu. Map was all messed up from sweatinf so much through my back pocket. Never doing over 100km on a single gear ever again.

The last 50km of the ride had more hills going for it but I guess having to double back made up for the easy ride you had. :badpokerface: what time did you and your friend get clocked at the finish?

azncreationz, you're right, ZN6 is an absolute beast in his single. He was outpacing and just smashing through hills like it was nothing when most were on their biggest cog. I have so much respect for this guy!

It was good to meet you man. I posted a pretty bad time like 8 hours probably. I got smashed by granny times :/ no way I'm fast. You lie.

Yes, I've been there before. The place is a joke. They buy old bikes from where ever and resell them for a high mark-up. So even if they say there's a 50% off sale, they're still making lots of money (I'm not against making money, they're a business afterall, but gauging is another thing). I know first hand, they've emailed me through craigslist before as well, saying they'll give me $100 for a BMX that I had listed. I went into the store, noticed a 29'er that had a broken frame, yet they still wanted $150 for it. So I asked them, ok, I'll trade you my bmx and give you $50 for the 29'er (since I needed some parts from it). They still said no, and only offered me $50 for my bmx. Good old bait & switch. And then I see my old BMX a couple of weeks later listed for $200! I had it on CL for $100. As for new and used, there are no new bikes. There might be a couple of new parts or accessories kicking around, but that's pretty slim pickings too.

A little embarrassing but this is my first actual photo of my bike in the wild. 2015 R3, stock Ultegra build + Ultegra pedals, Arundel Mandible carbon cages, and a temporary Bontrager saddle bag. Got a few nice rides in this weekend!

Changing a flat is actually pretty easy with a little practice (which I've had lots this year)
